Multiplied Media Corp. has implemented the Poynt360 name to the augmented reality search feature within the free Poynt local search application for the iPhone. Poynt360 overlays search results with the real-world environment as viewed through the iPhone’s camera, providing the user with an augmented local search experience.

PocketMac has announced Uniformity and Ribbons, two new iPhone apps designed to help sailors improve their professional appearance. The two apps reduce the complex task of assembling a sailor’s uniform and ribbons to a few clicks. Uniformity is US$5.99; Ribbons is free.

Excelltech Mobile has unleashed Fake-A-Location 1.0 for iPhone and iPod touch devices. The $0.99 app allows users to pinpoint a place using Google Maps, and send it in a text or email message as their “current location.”

Unreal Mojohas launched Nanoplex 1.0, a free puzzle game for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users. It’s a remake of scrolling tile-based puzzle games and comes with 10 game levels.

Maintain has presented Maintain 1.0 for the iPhone. The free app is full of articles ranging from quick tips about Apple’s and Maintain’s software all the way to full troubleshooting and problem solving guides.

Shacked Software has released Flickpad 1.5, a $4.99 Facebook photo application specifically for the iPad. It uses multi-touch “to make browsing and discovering new photos on Facebook a fun and addictive experience,” according to the folks at Shacked Software.

Phantom Fish has announced Byline 3.0, an update to the $3.99 RSS news reader and offline web browser for the iPhone and iPod touch. Byline 3 replaces buttons with an e swipe gesture to navigate between items and boasts tight integration with Twitter, Instapaper, and Read It Later. Among the update’s other improvements is automatic caching for offline browsing, which now uses statistical analysis to detect and cache complete web pages for feeds with truncated content.

Blackstone Audio, an independent audiobook producer, says more than 75 audiobooks have been turned into enhancedAudio apps by Folium Partners. These self-contained audiobooks come with a variety of navigation, graphic, and bonus features for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad mobile digital device users. “Architectural Record,” published by McGraw-Hill Construction, is now available as iPhone and iPad applications through a partnership with online magazine distributor Zinio.

MEDL Mobile has unveiled Self Destructing Message 1.1, their SMS destruction timer for iPhone and iPod touch devices. The $2.99 app offers a way to exchange confidential messages, photos, audio and video. Messages you send and receive have a pre-assigned destruction timer, so your opened note has only a limited amount of time before it wipes itself from existence.
