Amazon.com has announced its Kindle App for iPad is now available in all countries where the iPad is offered. The free app lets users select from hundreds of thousands of books available in the Kindle Store on iPad and features Amazon Whispersync technology that saves and synchronizes customers’ last page read, bookmarks, notes and highlights across their Kindle, Kindle DX, iPhone, iPod touch, Mac, iPad and more.

Speaking of reading apps, Kobo, a global eReading service, has also announced availability of its free iPad application in all markets where iPad is available. Additionally, Kobo today released regional versions for Canada, UK and Australia and announced a New Zealand application is coming soon. The regionalized applications, built specifically for the iPad, feature local content, merchandising, and currency. All Kobo iPad applications come pre-loaded with five free eBooks and connect to the Kobo eBook store, which features more than two million titles including current best sellers, classics, and thousands of free titles.

Gameloft is celebrating the launch of the iPad in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada, Japan, and Australia with the release of seven new titles. Gameloft’s new launch titles for the iPad in these countries are: Blokus, GT Racing: Motor Academy, Real Football 2010, Chess Classics, Brain Challenge, Gangstar : West Coast Hustle and Real Tennis. They will be available early June.

Avatron has released Air Display, a $$9.99 iPad app that allows it to act as an extra monitor for a computer, launching Air Display. With it you can use your iPad as a wireless display for your Mac OS X computer. Developed by Avatron Software, home of the popular Air Sharing apps, Air Display lets you position your iPad next to your computer, drag windows onto it, and interact.

Paragon Software Group has introduced America’s most popular Merriam-Webster’s dictionaries for the iPhone, now with iPad support. Webster’s Third New International Dictionary, Unabridged; Merriam-Webster’s Medical Dictionary; Merriam-Webster’s French-English Dictionary and Merriam-Webster’s Spanish-English Dictionary. Webster’s Third New International Dictionary, Unabridged is available for US$59.99, Merriam-Webster’s Medical Dictionary, Merriam-Webster’s French-English Dictionary and Merriam-Webster’s Spanish-English Dictionary are available for $24.99 each.

“Irish Sports Report” is now publishing a version of its magazine on the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. It offers 21 issues annually and a special annual football preview magazine. As a subscriber you’ll have access to up-to-the-minute news and information about the Fighting Irish, including the inside news on football recruiting and analysis by Tom Lemming, in-depth game previews and analysis, game recaps and original content.

Raijin Software has introduced Kopfnuss, a $1.99 mental arithmetic training application for the iPhone and iPod touch. It features basic arithmetics, the rule of three, Roman and square numbers and calculating basic sums of money — all for different skill levels. Apart from practicing 10 exercises in a row, the time pressure mode allows users to compete for the highscore and earn trophies for fast problem solving.

Juicy Bits has rolled out 3D Camera Studio 1.0 for the iPad, providing a way to create your own 3D photos. Based on the r 3D Camera app for the iPhone and iPod touch, it has been completely redesigned to take full advantage of the larger iPad screen. The $4.99 app sports a project gallery, a simple alignment mode, wireless image transfer, advanced export to JPS, PNS, and MPO files.

Drahtwerk has shipped iWebcamera 1.0, a $4.99 app that turns the iPhone into a real, driver-based webcamera. With iWebcamera the iPhone can be used as webcamera in applications like Skype, Windows Live Messenger, Youtube and every webcamera-nabled Windows application.

VerySoftware has announced Just Jigsaw 1.5 for the iPad. The $0.99 jigsaw puzzle game features 15 photos to choose from, each allowing players to solve 25, 35 and 48 piece jigsaw puzzles. Users can even import images directly from their photo albums.

Tidal Pool Software has released Receipts 2.0 for the iPhone and iPod touch. It organizes and tracks your business and personal expenses. You can create accounts, categories, and five different types of custom receipt fields for local taxes, payment information, or anything else you want to track with your receipts. The 2.0 update includes new support for capturing multiple receipt photos, attaching a voice memo to a receipt, and uploading expense reports to Google Docs and Evernote. Receipts costs US$4.99, though there’s a free, “lite” version limited to 10 receipts.

Dejal Systems has launched Tweeps 2.0 for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. It’s a Twitter companion app. However, it isn’t a full Twitter client — you can’t post tweets from it. Instead, it is a tool to manage your Twitter account. You can edit your name, bio text, web site URL and location, plus follow/unfollow people, see if someone follows you, block people, and find people. To celebrate the addition of iPad support, Tweeps is available free for a limited time.

VenticentoStudio has introduced DataTap 2.0, an update of the $4.99 pocket database app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It ships with a dedicated free desktop software application, letting users create and edit database records from the comfort of their Macs and PCs. DataTap lets users create and manage unlimited forms with unlimited fields.
