iPhone/iPod/iPad apps for Sept. 7

Here are the latest iPhone/iPod touch/iPod/iPad apps announced. You can find 'em at the Apple App Store (http://www.itunes.com/appstore/).

Neon Play has announced Hotshot Pool 1.0, an US$0.99 billiard arcade game for the iPhone and iPod touch. Hotshot Pool features 100 levels of arcade action with girls on a pool table, with five stages/girls to unlock: Cindy, Angel, Tiffany, Brandy and Mercedes. The achievement system has over 35 tasks for the players to unlock, and on each level, you can earn up to three golden stars by completing the level in the least amount of shots.

Redbot Software has released ABC Letters Tracing 1.3.0, an update to their $1.99 educational app for the iPhone and iPod touch. The app helps parents teach their children the alphabet, based on popular letter writing and tracing activity books used in schools. The child uses their finger to trace each letter on the screen of the device. As each letter appears the child hears the name of the letter along with the corresponding phonic pronunciation.

Frontier Silicon, a supplier of digital radio technology worldwide, has launched a free iPhone app that controls any Networked Audio Device based on its Jupiter 6.2 three dimensional reference design. It not only acts as a full remote control to select DAB, FM, Internet Radio, Last FM, Pandora services and control volume up/down, play, pause, love/ban and EQ settings but also enables users to access and control the play back of your entire music library from any DLNA compliant device or PC running Windows 7.

Stefan Preuss has debuted AcChen 1.0 for the iPad. It's a $1.99, arcade style, "find the matching tile" type of game. In it, you master the 60 different level and 12 bonus maps in the single player campaign or compete with a friend in Battle Mode. When playing bonus maps, players must fill the board in three minutes instead of clearing it. There are also eight unlock-able achievements, various bonus items and much more.

Dante Varnado Moore has unveiled Poet's Pad, a professional poetry writing app designed specifically for the iPad. The $6.99 app allows poets to write, arrange and store all of their creative writings and poetry concepts in one app. It also includes a digital audio recorder for writers who express their art via spoken word or def poetry.

We Are Colin is offering WordSearch Rush HD 1.0, a $2.99 word puzzle game for the iPad. It offers a twist on the conventional wordsearch game. The word list has been removed. Instead the user is given a topic that they have to find words related to.

Personal Applets has rolled out Gyro Tennis 1.0, their new game for iOS4 users. Leveraging the built-in gyroscope to control the racket and ball direction, the $0.99 game allows players to challenge their friends in real time via Bluetooth or perfect their tennis skills against the ball canon. Players can choose the equipment they want to play with, court surface, number of sets, difficulty level and more.

Second Gear has announced MarkdownMail 1.0, a new HTML email client for iOS The $1.99 app lets you compose HTML emails on your iPhone or iPod touch. Based around John Gruber's Markdown markup syntax, you can now send emails with bold text, italics, bulleted lists and more.

Rade | Eccles has announced Retro Light 1.0 for the iPhone and iPod touch. The $0.99 app joins vintage analog hip with a modern ultra-lounge vibe to create a multipurpose light app. You can choose between the utility of an LED/LCD flashlight or the euphoria of a mood light using a classic interface that evokes 70's era Hi-Fi stereo systems.

EureKOO has released StyleMe! 1.0 for iPhone and iPod touch devices. It's a $1.99 fashion app designed to help women chose their clothes and make combinations quickly. StyleMe! can store thousands of pictures, and be used either with the iPhone camera or with the Photos Library, with the ability to export pictures to the library, as well.

| daronco has introduced Tickle Me You 1.0 for the iPhone and iPod touch. With the $0.99 app, you can choose or take a photo, select a preset laugh or record your own, add tickle zones, shake or touch a tickle zone to laugh, and save all people created right on your device. If you like what you did you can save and name your person so you can bring them back whenever you like.

TurboNUKE has unveiled Red Card Rampage 1.0, a $0.99 soccer physics-based puzzle action game for iOS devices. In Red Card Rampage, users can take revenge on referees' unfair red cards.

SYSTRAN, a provider of language translation technologies, has debuted the SYSTRAN Mobile Translator English-French for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Using the same recognized machine translation technology preferred by Internet portals, multinational corporations and government agencies, SYSTRAN Mobile Translator ($3.99) provides iPhone, iPod touch and iPad customers with translations in real-time.

Nike has rolled out Nike+ GPS for the iPhone and iPod touch. The $19 app gives owners of the devices a way to track their run performance without requiring a Nike+ shoe sensor kit. Nike + GPS tracks your pace and distance, shows your route, includes audio feedback about your run, lets users set a “power song,” can upload data to the Nike+ web site, and more.

Cambridge Coders Limited is offering Calcuccino Lite 1.0 for iOS devices. It's free and leverages the iPhone's large touchscreen and advanced operating system to provide an interface that is not possible on a physical calculator. The LCD can be swiped to display the current value in different number bases, or scientific notations. The main keypad can be swiped to reveal an interactive ASCII table. Functions are accessed through standard iPhone menus.
