Industry experts from companies such as Google, Cisco, VMware, NetApp and Intel will present on the impact Ethernet networks of the future will have on system and component design at a Technology Exploration Forum hosted by the Ethernet Alliance (http://www.ethernetalliance.com) on Oct. 5 in Santa Clara, California.

The continued evolution of Ethernet technology raises many questions about the future of network and system design. This one-day event, open to both Ethernet Alliance members and non-members, will provide the opportunity to explore these questions with members of the Ethernet community. Specific areas of discussion will include energy efficiency in Ethernet networks, higher Ethernet speeds, Internet data center, cloud computing and virtualization standards, and impacts on storage networking.

Forum attendees are invited to an informal networking reception following the event, where they will have the opportunity to meet the presenters, John D’Ambrosia, the program chair, and representatives from the event sponsors: Force10 Networks, NetApp, Ixia and Mellanox.
