Bank of America and Citigroup are considering whether to let employees use an iPhone as an alternative to Research In Motion.’s BlackBerry for corporate e-mail, reports “Bloomberg Businessweek” (http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-11-05/bank-of-america-citigroup-said-to-test-apple-iphone.html), quoting ” three people familiar with the plans.”

The banks are testing software for the iPhone that’s designed to make it secure enough for company messages, said the people, who didn’t want to be named because the plans aren’t public. The tests are the latest sign that RIM may be losing its tight grip on the corporate smartphone market, says “Bloomberg Businessweek.”
