Fans of classic gaming can now get their fix on their iPhone or iPod touch with TurboGrafx-16 Gamebox from Hudson Entertainment. The collection comes with a free game, “World Sports Competition.”  Once users have downloaded the app, they will be able to purchase 15 games which will be available for US$2.99 each. The list of games available right now in the TurboGrafx-16 Gamebox collection are: World Sports Competition, Bomberman ’94, Bonk’s Adventure, China Warrior, Dungeon Explorer, Gradius, Jaseiken Necromancer, Military Madness, New Adventure Island, Ninja Spirit, R-Type, Salamander, Soldier Blade, Victory Run, Vigilante and World Class Baseball. 

NTT Resonant, Japanese publisher of iOS games, and Berzerk Studio, a flash games developer, announced that Berzerk Ball, the iPhone version of Flash game Homerun in Berzerk Land, is $0.99. In the game, players send Comeau the annoying geek across over-the-top Berzerk Land, aiming for boosts that will send him flying further into oblivion.

Industrial Brothers has released Beast Farmer II: Beasts Unleashed, the second installment of their Beast Farmer franchise for iOS. The $0.99 features dozens of beasts and enemies, 3D backgrounds, animations and effects, and has a number of new features including user-customized beasts, in-app purchases for new beasts and game-maps, and network rankings through Openfeint.

AppMania Company has introduced Iron Wars 1.0, a free 3D game for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It offers a 3D battle between futuristic iron balls in top-down view and in real time.

Undaunted Apps has unveiled Celebritize! for iPhone and iPod touch 4G devices. With Celebritize!, users can snap photos of themselves and their friends with their favorite celebrities anytime, anywhere. Each edition features four to eight poses of the featured celebrity. Seven editions are currently offered, including Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, Justin Bieber, Oprah, Ellen Degeneres, Harry Connick Jr. and Kathy Griffin with more to be released shortly.

SolarSpark Productions has debuted Pro Track 1.0 for the iPhone. It’s a $1.99 utility that allows users to secretly record all movements made and locations visited by anyone carrying an iPhone. The track, based on GPS and cell tower data, is stored in a log with date and time, and may be examined by opening the app, which runs invisibly in the background so the owner may use their iPhone normally.

Celmaro has developed Smachico 1.0 for iOS, a wheel based number learning game for children in the preschool age. In the $1.99 the children are motivated to learn the numbers from 1 – 12 with symbols, dices, numbers and numbers written in letters. Smachico can be played in English, French and German. Numbers are presented to the child audiovisually in attractive colors and styles. The student has to turn a wheel to give the right answer by selecting the corresponding number on the wheel.

Not A Basement Studio has presented Manga Rock Unity 1.0 for iPad, featuring a new Manga Book View. The $0.99 is designed to deliver a manga reading experience with a collection of 7,000-plus titles from MangaFox and Mangable. Manga can be found with filters by alphabets, ranks, or categories. Chapters are beautifully arranged and displayed. The app also supports both online and offline reading with background downloading.

Davander Mobile Corp. is offering BackWORDs Text to Speech 1.0, their latest game for the iPhone, iPod and iPad platform. The $0.99 game allows kids of all ages to type in text and have the app speak the text backwards. You can play back the results in one of four voices and customize the pitch, speed, and warble. To keep data entry to a minimum, the app keeps a history of up to 100 of the most recent phrases.

Spielhaus has debuted Today Voice Notes 1.0, a $1.99 voice memo application for the iPhone and iPod touch. It uses the built-in tilt sensor of the device to start recording. Voice notes can be enriched with text and images. The images can be snapped with the built-in cam or chosen from the camera roll.

Kyle Barber has served up MVP Tracker (Basketball Edition) Lite 1.0, a new, free addition of his MVP Tracker series for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. It gives users the ability to track the continually updating statistics of Lebron James and Dwayne Wade side by side.

Online retailer Buy.com has revealed a free iPhone/iPod touch app. Using barcode technology and a voice-recognition platform from MeMeMe, the app lets last-minute holiday shoppers to scan product barcodes and confirm if a better deal is available at Buy.com.

Kumho Tire USA, a tire manufacturer, has rolled out Kumho Tire Drive, a free racing game for iOS devices.

iPhone users can navigate the highways of North America with the new, free NavFree USA from Navmii, a publisher of GPS location-based applications.

Ruckus Mobile Media has published free, “lite” versions of acclaimed The Night Before Christmas,” “Pecos Bill” and “The Velveteen Rabbit” storybook apps for iOS devices. The apps allow families to read the classic stories and record their own or loved one’s voice for personalized storytelling.

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt has announced the first in a series of mobile games for children to play on the iPhone and iPad, featuring the character Curious George as well as the cast of characters from the Gossie and Friends series, all in games that preschool-aged kids can enjoy at home or on-the-go. The games are now available at a cost of $2.99 for the iPhone and $3.99 for the iPad.

PhenomenArts has released Sonitaire 1.0 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. The $0.99 app, based on the classic card game of Solitaire, uses 30 cards with six suits of color with each suit consisting of five gradient colors. Every colored card has a musical note associated with it, which is heard when tapped. A stack of cards plays all the notes in the stack; a win plays the entire song created by the cards used.

Celebrity Gossip and Soap News, Shopping and Horoscopes UK based iNewsApps have introduced Celebrity Gossip and Soap News 1.0 for iOS devices. The $0.99 app lists sources of news for UK and Hollywood celebrities and UK soaps.

Bauwerk Hampel has unveiled iVilla 1.0 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. It’s a $0.99 tool for designing a home and garden, just by swiping elements on their device’s screen, or shaking it for random ideas.

Zombies Ala Mode HD 1.0 for iPad has shambled from Crawl Space Games. In the $3.99 tilt sensitivity game, the player is a hard-working zombie trying to make it as an ice cream parlor assistant. Zombies Ala Mode HD contains 50 levels and three different games modes: Career, Survival and Bug Attack.

Liberty Wings 1.0 ($$0.99) for iOS devices has soared from Digital Reality. In the game, you’re an air officer from the US Navy who takes control of a World War II air fighter and fights his way through enemy lines. Your mission is to hunt and take down all elements of the German Atom Bomb Project.

Laranea has debuted Duty 1.0 for iPad. It’s a $3.99 Google Tasks client especially designed for iPad. It provides a real-time interface to your Google Tasks in your GMail, Google Calendar or Google Apps account. You can add, delete, move and edit multiple lists and tasks just like you would do in the browser.

EmirBytes has clicked off iQuikD.o.F 1.0 for iOS devices. The $0.99 app was created specifically for iPhoneographers and emphasizes creating selective focus in a photo. Currently iQuikD.o.F features 12 depth-of-field presets, manual drawing, and a special “Stack” function.

JackFruit Digital Media has unleashed SlapTheApp 1.0, a stress reliever for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users. The $0.99 app allows the user “put any face into the male or female characters dressed in a classy suit and taking out the stress on them.”

Combined Media has published FYI Magazine 1.0,a new and interactive magazine app for iOS devices. The free app allows users to download issues right into their devices and browse through the entire magazine.

Sinusoid Pty has revealed Snappix 1.0, a $0.99 app for the iPhone. It allows you to quickly take four shots from the camera in quick succession, put them in the same frame, and quickly send them via email to friends or to facebook directly without leaving the App. The picture frame can be either 2 x 2 as in a passport photograph, or in a 1 x 4 strip as in a photo booth strip of pictures. Both portrait and landscape shots can be mixed within the one frame.

Free The Apps! has developed Panorama Free 1.0, a free camera app for the iPhone and iPod touch.With it you can take a few photos in sequence and then the Panorama Free merge all of the photos into one, creating a panoramic photo.

Oneapp Application Studio is presenting Word Crunch 1.0 for iOS. The $1.99 app is a fusion between a word game and an action game for the iPhone and iPod touch. People of all ages can test their reflexes and vocabulary skills. There are three modes each containing three levels of difficulty.

Pogmo Productions has published Charlie Wonders Milk 1.0, a $3.99 interactive children’s book for the iPad and iPhone. The first book to be released in the Charlie Wonders series, Charlie Wonders Milk explores where milk comes from and the process involved in its production. Targeted at children aged 4 to 10 years of age, The Charlie Wonders series aims to promote the importance of good nutrition and healthy living.

Big Blue Bubble is offering Burn the Rope 1.0, a $0.99 strategy game for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It nvolves a mix of strategic planning, thinking ahead, coordination and the ability to stay in deep focus. The game features 80 levels where users have to feed the fire and burn as much rope as they can in each level to progress. The challenge is that fire only burns upwards, leaving players to tilt and turn their iOS devices to keep the flame alive.

Logic Consulting is offering The Night Before Christmas — A visit from St. Nicholas for the iPad. The $1.99 book/app combines the 1912 poem by Clement C. Moore with re-mastered original illustrations by Jessie Willcox Smith.

Papa’s Frog has updated Helping Toto the Puppy for the iPad to version 1.4.2. The $3.99 app is an interactive children’s storybook where young users actively participate throughout the story by drawing and completing various tasks to nurture Toto the Puppy back to health. Each interactive component calls for children to successfully complete a different action, or set of actions, in order to move foreword.

The Mission Lab has announced GeoShare 1.1 for iPhone 3G, 3GS, and iPhone 4 devices. Featuring real-time live updates, the free app lets users share their real-time location with friends and family. GeoShare does not require signup nor does it require others to be invited to the app. With GeoShare’s cross-platform support, recipients of the link don’t even need to have the app installed to see the sender’s location on an interactive web map.

TomTom, a provider of location and navigation solutions, says its latest update(version 1.6) to the $39.99 TomTom App for iPhone includes TomTom Map Share. With the addition of Map Share, iPhone can make changes instantly to their own maps and to benefit from free, map updates made by the TomTom community and verified by TomTom.

Tapulous, part of Disney Mobile, is extending its Tap Tap Revenge franchise in time for Christmas with the launch of Tap Tap Revenge 4, which is now available for free on the Apple App Store. Featuring new tracks from Linkin Park, Katy Perry, Benny Benassi, My Chemical Romance, Kid Cudi, Justin Timberlake, Daft Punk, Train, Far East Movement, Hinder, Edward Maya, Selena Gomez & the Scene, Florence and the Machine, Cee-Lo, Nicki Minaj, Young MC, and Bad Religion, the music rhythm game continues the tradition of showcasing new hits from today’s biggest musical acts.

Adva-Soft has updated TouchRetouch for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad to version 2.0.1. The $0.99 app is a photo editing tool designed for mobile devices. It allows the users to remove objects from freshly captured or saved photographs easily, with finger swipes and taps only, without affecting any other elements of the picture.

Beanheads Consulting has released an update (version 2.2) to Sort Shots for the iPad. The $4.99 app allows users to import images while retaining previously assigned metadata/EXIF keywords automatically. With it you can find and view photos by tapping on a word.

Light Studios has updated Quick Quote for the iPad to version 1.1 for iPad. The $17.99 app allows you to create and follow up quotes. Version 1.1 offers a new range of international settings.

Mobz technologies has announced the update of their two Xmas voice transformers SantaVoice and ElfVoice. Both voice transformers, which are $0.99 each, have been updated with a new and faster version of the dirac pitch shift engine.

Digital Poke has updated their 360 Web Browser for iOS devices to 2.0. Version 2.0 brings Firefox Sync, Download Manager and the ability to view and download Flash Videos using Clip Converter.

Lx Apps has introduced Magic Xmas 1.1, an update of the $0.99 app for the iPad, iPhone and iPod. It’s an interactive set of Christmas trees and fireplace environments. Touch on the center of the screen to change the lights cycle and on the borders to change the colors of the trees and the lights and rotate the device to change to the fireplace view.

Global Delight has updated Photo Delight, their color splash app for the iPad, to version 1.1. The $1.99 app has a virtual canvas to place your color photographs on. You can add color to any part of the automatically converted black-and-white photograph with swipes of your finger and see the effect. Version 1.1 introduces a “Smart Touch” feature.

Inkstone Software has revved QuickReader for iOS devices to version 3.0. The speed reading app features settings that give the user total control over all functions.The 3.0 update makes it the first and only speed reading app to run native on iPad, according to the folks at Inkstone Software.

Deutsch Creative has updated Abracadial for the iPhone and iPod touch to version 1.2,. The $0.99 app was specifically designed to make it easier for iPhone users to organize and access their contacts. You can sort your contacts into easily accessible groups with only a few clicks. And you can group contacts into folders or shortcuts to similar contacts, place groups within groups, color-code groups or create speed-dial buttons and more.

AssistiveWare has announced Pictello 1.1 ($14.99), which adds full iPad support. Pictello offers a way to create talking photo albums and talking books. Each page in a Pictello Story can contain a picture, up to five lines of text, and a recorded sound or text-to-speech using voices. Stories can be shared using iTunes File Sharing or via WiFi with other Pictello users through a free account on the Pictello Sharing Server.

The iPhone version of GoodReader has been updated to include the latest features of the iPad version (which was also just updated), including a new PDF displaying engine, AirPrint support, and improved annotation. GoodReader is available in the App Store for US$2.99.
