Wal-mart is giving consumers a US$50 gift card when they purchased an iPhone 4, part of a “last-minute gifts” promotion, reports the “Wall Street Journal” (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703886904576032052321154760.html?mod=WSJ_Tech_LEFTTopNews). The world’s biggest retailer sells the latest version of the iPhone for $197 — two dollars less than Apple and AT&T do — with a two-year contract.
Wal-Mart sn’t alone: earlier this month, electronics retailer RadioShack Corp. sold the iPhone 4 for $149, notes the “Journal.” A spokeswoman said the limited time promotion has since ended.
