Elegant Chaos has announced Neu 1.0.2 (http://www.elegantchaos.com/neu), a minor update to their file making utility for Mac OS X.

Neu is designed to make it easier to create new documents in the Finder without you having to open an application first. It does this by adding menus and global keyboard shortcuts that can be triggered from the Finder, or any other application. Neu lets you choose what to make from a list of templates. You can also trigger Neu from any application using a special key combination.

Changes in the 1.0.2 release include:

° Double-clicking on a license file will now launch Neu and register the license.

° Symbolic links are now handled in the path to templates.

° A Quit button has been added to the “Presence” preference when in “Stealth” mode.

° Template windows are now resizeable, and have a number of visual improvements.

° The default templates have been updated

Neu requires Mac OS X 10.6.5 or higher. It costs US$10, though version 1.0.2. is a free update for registered users. A demo is available for download.
