The last week before the Macworld Conference & Expo 2011 is a busy one on “The MUG Event Calendar.”

Philip Goward of Smile will visit a California group to demonstrate TextExpander, Joe Kissell will make a virtual visit to an Ohio Group to discuss Apple’s MobileMe, and John Yi of Facebook will make a personal appearance at another California group. Other topics in this week’s listings include Snow Leopard, the Mac App Store, passwords, social networking, genealogy, iMovie ‘11 and more.

“The MUG Event Calendar” can be found at The MUG Center (http://www.mugcenter.com), an online resource for Mac User Groups. MUGs are good places for making new friends in the Mac community, improving your computing skills, finding solutions to technical Problems, and perhaps locating a good deal on used hardware. For more info on MUGs, and to find the location of the one nearest you, go to Apple’s MUG page (http://www.apple.com/usergroups/).
