The Boxee Box offers a way to bring TV shows, movies, music, and photos from the Internet to your TV. All that’s needed is a TV with an HDMI input and an Internet connection. The Boxee Box has support for a full web browser, full HD streaming from the Internet, support for all popular media file formats, and integrated social networking that delivers personal recommendations straight to the TV.
 
Boxee Box by D-Link users who are Netflix members are now able to instantly watch thousands of  TV shows and movies streaming from Netflix for US$7.99 per month through an application that’s free for consumers.
 
VUDU provides Boxee Box users access a large selection of HD movies on demand, new releases (same day as DVD) and thousands of standard definition movies for rental at $2 for two nights. The VUDU HDX format on the Boxee Box is 1080p high-definition at 24 fps with Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 surround. Featuring TruFilm, VUDU optimizes the encoding, transmission and display of HDX movies on 40-inch HDTVs and larger screens.
