Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who recently took a medical leave of absence from his company, and Google CEO Eric Schmidt will be among the attendees of President Obama’s event with business leaders in San Francisco Thursday evening, reports “ABC News” (http://macte.ch/iGfup), quoting an unnamed source “familiar with the event.”

They’ll be among many business leaders in technology and innovation the president will sit down and talk to, as he continues to sell his State of the Union message, the article adds. “The president and the business leaders will discuss our shared goal of promoting American innovation, and discuss his commitment to new investments in research and development, education and clean energy,” a White House official said.

Jobs’ reported attendance may be a surprise for some, as a flurry of Internet rumors have put the CEO on death’s door. Such sources as the “National Inquirer” and celebrity gossip site, “Radar Online” (http://macte.ch/Xkq7p), yesterday served up articles saying that Jobs had reportedly been given just six weeks to live after he was spotted outside the Stanford Cancer Center in Palo Alto, California.
