Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) has launched its curriculum for Algebra 1, the HMH Fuse: Algebra 1 App, in the Apple App store. The US$59.99 app provides the Holt McDougal Algebra 1 core curriculum enhanced with interactive capabilities. HMH is also poised to release Geometry and Algebra 2 apps this spring and is optimizing its major K-12 titles for use across a multitude of digital devices.

Sega has announced Streets of Rage 2 for the iPhone and iPod touch. The $2.99 allows players to fight the evil crime boss, Mr. X., in a series of street-level battles.

Jetsetter.com has released its Jetsetter app for the iPad. The free app provides a virtual window into Jetsetter’s hand-selected, verified hotels and resorts around the world via 360-degree immersive, high-resolution images.

Glu Mobile has introduced Bug Village app for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The free, 3D village-building game gives players the ability to build, maintain and decorate their own bustling bug village. Players put ants and bees to work at different tasks to build a village from the ground up.

On Center Software has launched the Construction Job Board app. The first free app to be released by the company, the mobile version of jobs.oncenter.com is designed to match potential employees to the right employer.

Penpower has debuted Worldictionary 1.0.0 for the iPhone. The $4.99 app allows users to translate any word they see to and from nine different languages. Worldictionary uses the iPhone’s native camera to recognize text and translate on screen. Using Google translating services, the app has the ability to recognize thousands of words on any surface.

SchroederDev has served up Slango HD 1.0, the $1.99, iPad compatible version of Slango — Urban Dictionary. Developed specifically to leverage the iPad’s interface, Slango is a mobile front end to Urban Dictionary, the web-based dictionary of slang words and phrases. Slango features access to over 5,000,000 words and features such as Word of the Day, search, browse, share, and offline-viewing support.

Pixite has served up Facetastic 1.0 for the iPad. The $1.99 app offers a way to view, upload, and share Facebook photos and videos. Users can pan, zoom, and sift through all their Facebook photos and videos.

Paper Corn Media has unleashed Color Blaster Game 1.0, a universal application for iOS devices. The $0.99 game starts with easy levels so you can practice before getting into more complex stages. Color Blaster Game is enabled for Apple’s Game Center and OpenFeint for social gaming.

Mindwarp Consultancy has rolled out Balance Guide 1.0, a financial app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Aimed to bridge the gap between pen, paper and a full-blown accounts package, the $0.99 app provides ongoing forecasting for personal accounts.

Carried Away Games has created Perplexo Words 1.0, a $0.99, word-building game for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. It combines elements of word search, crosswords, anagrams and other popular games. Perplexo Words features head-to-head play through Game Center, giving players the chance to test their English skills against a friend or random opponent. You can also play through the 48-level, single-player campaign.

Mobz technologies is offering iSoundGrid Kids for iPad 1.0, a new edition to the iSoundgrid product line. The $1.99 Kids edition of iSoundGrid offers a range of animal sounds and funny object sounds.

Shape Minds & Moving Images has published Nighty Night! HD 1.0 for iPad. It’s an $1.99, interactive, bedtime story book that was designed especially for kids aged 1-4 years to help them go to bed with ease. The book features 2D illustrations and animation along with a relaxing melody and cute characters.

Water Ludo for iOS devices has surfaced from Softmines. It’s a $2.99, underwater theme game in which you guide a ball over ramps, moving platforms and other obstacles to reach the designated basket for that ball. The player solves a variety of puzzles and saves the balls from a variety of sea monsters.

Cegedim Relationship Management has announced the general availability of the second generation of MI for iPad, the company’s free Life Sciences Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution designed specifically to leverage the benefits of the Apple tablet. This latest version features improved usability and enhanced offline functionality for increased user adoption.

APPinspect has grown Master Gardener’s Buddy, a $4.99 gardening record app for the master gardener. You can upload JPEG layouts via iTunes for garden beds, for many gardens, using scanned sketches or graphic files.

Guinness World Records wants gamers to relive the days of arcade supremacy and 8-bit glory with the launch of its new Gamer’s Edition Arcade app available now on iPad, iPhone, iPod and Android for $0.99. The app features a selection of fast-paced challenges that give the user the opportunity to earn their place in the record books.  The app also offers sample content from the Gamer’s Edition book.

Stitcher says its Stitcher SmartRadio app is now available for free on the iPad. It gives listeners immediate access to their favorite audio programs wherever they want, whenever they want. From news, entertainment, sports, comedy, and more, listeners can stitch together a customized playlist from more than 5,000 different sources and have it continuously updated on their mobile devices.

Edmunds’ InsideLine.com, an automotive enthusiast Web site, ahas released its new InsideLine.com app for the iPhone. The free app provides automotive information and entertainment including videos, photos and car reviews from the InsideLine.com team.

NTT Resonant and Giab has introduced the Flash title, GemCraft, for iOS. The $1.99 title combines RPG elements with gameplay that spans four worlds and 32 levels, each with seven gameplay modes to unlock.

Bertheussen has updated Wordfeud for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad to version 1.2.2. In the free game you play against 2.6 million people on a 15 x 15 tile board and gain points for words created and placed. Players can obtain higher points by placing words on the double letter, double word, triple letter and triple word tiles. Players can participate in 30 simultaneous games and have the ability to chat with their opponents tying in custom avatars.

TranCreative has announced Converter Plus XL 2.0 for the iPad. The $1.99 app performs simultaneous conversions in any of 107 different categories, including currency, physics, medicine, and engineering. The app is customizable, displaying all units of measure, or only those selected. Users may edit and share conversion templates with each other and download new templates from the TranCreative website.

Imaja has updated CalReader, a calendar/productivity app for iOS devices, to version 2.0, providing refined readability, filtering, time calculations and event listing export for calendars. The update of the $3.99 also lets you sync with iCal, MobileMe, Google and Yahoo CalDAV calendars. You can export event listings by e-mail as attached CSV or TSV files.

Oniric Games has released Elemental Rage HD 1.0.1,an update of their metroidvania-style adventure platformer for the iPad. In the $6.99 app you take the role of Huna, a young Spirit Guide who must rescue the Elemental Spirits captured by an evil sorcerer and save life in a distant world.

Navigon AG has rolled out the eighth update for its iPhone app, MobileNavigator, navigation solution for the iOS platform. The update adds a Reality Scanner feature that helps finding points of interest close-by, presenting them in an augmented reality view. Version 1.8 also includes safety camera alerts as an in app purchase, an at-a-glance traffic gage and a new NAVTEQ map. In conjunction with the update launch, MobileNavigator apps and In app ourchase prices will be reduced by up to $15 through April 28.

Third Chicken has ABC’s for Kid’s 2.0 for the iPad to version 2.0. It’s a $1.99 hand drawn and painted game. Children shake the board and watch the animal cards scatter. With a tap and drag feature, the children can reposition the animal buttons in alphabetical order on the board. Get it right, and the button will stick, but make a mistake and watch the letter tumble.
