Case-Mate (http://www.case-mate.com) has introduced the US$60 TANK case for the iPhone. It’s designed for “consumers who have a rough and rugged lifestyle or those who simply want extra protection a strong defense against extreme conditions,” says Erik Attkisson, chief marketing officer at Case-Mate.
He says TANK is one of the few tough iPhone cases on the market to pass U.S. Military Specifications. Testing showed the tough case either met or exceeded the U.S. Department of Defense standard for sand/dust, shock/drop, wind/rain and vibration. The case sports a soft-touch textured polycarbonate hard shell and cushioned silicone interior absorbs impact.
It also has a retractable screen that shield the iPhone from impacts, cracking and condensation. The TANK is available in e green/orange, black/black, black/pink and white/pink.
