LunaTik watch bands make your iPod nano a wristwatch

I'm not sure how practical it is to use an iPod nano as a watch, but it sure is fun. If you plan to do this, I'd recommend a watch band from LunaTik (http://www.lunatik.com) as they look great, are easy to use, and work with the latest nanos.

The company's self-titled LunaTik band features a anodized aluminum case as well as black PVD plated buckle and hardware. Its straps are composed of aircraft grade aluminum and the straps are made from compression molded, high-grade silicone rubber with an anti-dust coating. In other words, this is one tough, sleek-looking watch band.

The LunaTik -- which comes in black, silver and red flavors -- is also very comfortable to wear. You have to do a bit of assembling/disassembling of the center of the band, which holds your iPod nano, but this is quick and easy to do. The LunaTik even comes with the tool you need to do this. Once installed, your nano isn't going to slip out.

There are two downsides to using the LunaTik: you may not be able to plug-in the nano to some accessories -- though the watch band offers quick access all the iPod functions.

If you want to easily be able to switch from "watch" mode to "clip" mode, the $39.95 TikTok is a better choice. Its snap-in design lets you snap the nano in and out of the wrist dock. Like the LunaTik, it's tough.

The TikTok is molded from reinforced PC/ABS and the straps are made from compression molded high-grade silicone rubber with an anti-dust coating. All the hardware is stainless steel. The downside: The TikTok doesn't grasp your nano as securely as the LunaTik, though my iPad has never slipped from the watchband's grasp even when I'm running with it. The TikTok is available in CMYK and white models.

You should also be aware that, with any iPod nano watchband, the face of the nano Apple device isn't protected. If you bang the MP3 player against surfaces, you'll scratch it just as you would any watch.

LunaTik rating: 9 out of 10

TikTok rating: 8 out of 10
