A new report coming from the Park Associates research group (http://www.parksassociates.com)) says 87% of those who own Apple’s iPhone 4S use at least one feature of its Siri personal assistant at least once a month, reports “The Wall Street Journal” (http://macte.ch/r61pt).

Here’s Apple’s description of Siri: “Siri on iPhone 4S lets you use your voice to send messages, schedule meetings, place phone calls, and more. Ask Siri to do things just by talking the way you talk. Siri understands what you say, knows what you mean, and even talks back.”

However, the study says that most usage is across a relatively limited set of functions. Parks Associates surveyed 482 owners of the iPhone 4S. According to the report:

° Approximately one-third of the the iPhone 4S owners surveyed use Siri to place phone calls, send text messages, or look up information daily or almost daily.

° Thirty-two percent have never used Siri to play music.

° Thirty-five percent have never used it to schedule a meeting.

° Thirty percent haven’t used Siri to send an email, though 26% use it to send email daily or almost daily.
