Apple rumors: iPad, iPhone constraints, more

Here are the latest Apple rumors from the blogosphere:

"Did Apple settle on Plan B for the third-generation iPad? Apple may have had designs on a thinner tablet for what arrived as the new iPad. If only it could have gotten hold of the display technology that it really wanted." -- "CNET" (http://news.cnet.com/8301-1001_3-57428643-92/did-apple-settle-on-plan-b-...)

"Apple is now facing constraints of the black 16GB iPhone 4 and black 32GB iPhone 4 (GSM/CDMA unit breakdown is unclear). Like with the 16GB white iPhone 4 constraint situation of mid-late April, Genius Bars without stock of the black 16GB iPhone 4 and black 32GB iPhone 4 replacements units have been instructed to provide customers with comparable iPhone 4S replacements. Not all Apple Stores are facing these constraints (but many are), and these constraints should clear up within a few weeks if the white iPhone 4 16GB constraint process follows suit here." -- "9to5Mac" (http://9to5mac.com)

"Apple responded to a developer’s suggestion for multi-user support for the iPad with an e-mail saying it is a “known issue, which is currently being investigated by engineering.” The implication is that Apple could be working on adding support for multiple users in a future iOS update." -- "The Mac Observer" (http://www.macobserver.com)

"Apple appears to be testing a notification service on the iCloud website. The test message appears at the top of the browser window upon logging into iCloud.com." -- "MacRumors" (http://www.macrumors.com)

Anyone afraid that throwing Transformers into the Angry Birds mix would result in a Michael Bay-level of childhood pillaging can rest easy. While Rovio’s famous fowls may be a 21st century staple, Angry Birds: Transformers wears its affection for the 80s on its sleeve. But is mere retro reverence enough to justify this crossover? We find out in... | Read more »
