Mac OS X software updates for Aug. 10

Here are the latest updates for Mac OS X apps:

The PandaWare Company (http://www.pandaware.com/) has released a free maintenance update for TimeCache, its Mac time billing application. Version 9.0.1 includes improvements for Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, as well as fixes for a number of small issues.

Apple has released updated printer drivers for Samsung, HP, and FujiXerox. You can download them via the Software Updates component of Mac OS X's Systems Preferences app or via the Mac App Store.

MacXDVD Software (http://www.macxdvd.com) says their products are now compatible with Mountain Lion.

Houdah Software (http://www.houdah.com) has updated Type2Phone -- which turns your Mac into a Bluetooth keyboard for your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad -- to version 1.5. The upgrade supports new iOS keyboard layouts.

Troll Touch (http://www.trolltouch.com) has announced the successful completion of all of the company's system compatibility tests for touchscreen functions on computers and displays running Mountain Lion. All internally integrated touchscreen iMac and display products as well as the company's proprietary line of "SlipCOVER" external, end-user installable touchscreen systems have been certified compatible.

The Pixelmator Team (http://www.pixelmator.com) has rolled out version 2.1 of Pixelmator, its image editing software for the Mac. Designed to take full advantage of Mountain Lion and the new MacBook Pro with Retina display, the upgrade adds support for iCloud, a new Effects Browser with new Vintage and Miniaturize effects, smart Alignment Guides and several other enhancements.

DEVONtechnologies (www.devontechnologies.com) has served up updates for its document and information manager, DEVONthink, and the smart notebook app DEVONnote. The updates make the applications compatible with Mountain Lion, bring a rewritten scan function that is now also available in all editions of DEVONthink, and fix minor glitches.

InfoLogic has given us MathMagic Pro Edition 8.1 (http://www.mathmagic.com/) for Mac OS X, an update of their mathematical equation editor. This version comes with all InDesign CS to CS6 plug-ins. It also works with many other apps such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Keynote, Pages, iBooks Author.
