iPhone/iPod touch/iPad apps for Aug. 23

Here are the latest iPhone/iPod touch/iPod/iPad apps. You can find 'em at the Apple App Store (www.itunes.com/appstore/).

CodeSpot Software Company has announced Apps Quiz Game 1.0 for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. It's a free name guessing game in which you're challenged to guess the name of hundreds of apps from the Apple App Store.

Techbla has released Boxthebag 1.0, its new virtual boxing app for the iPad. The US$2.99 app allows anyone to hit a 3D punching bag by simply boxing in front of the iPad's camera.

Tekton Technologies has introduced Orderly for iOS. The $0.99 app allows users to create and manage to-dos using simple iPhone gestures. Notes are displayed on one of three shelves using Apple's bookshelf metaphor: high priority, medium, and low.

GR8iPhoneGames has unveiled Tap Ladder Insanity to the Moon 1.0 for iOS. In the $0.99 app, you help Teddy-the brave Bear and Cocoa-the stealthy Rabbit get to the moon as quickly as possible.

Done Right Apps has debuted PictsieMe -- PuriKura With Attitude 1.0 for iOS. The free photography app combines "chic photo filters with the fun of Japanese Print Club, or Purikura."

Cocologics has premiered ProCamera HD 1.0 for the iPad. The $2.99 camera app sports, among other features, the patent-pending SnapTrigger, Lightbox, Expert Mode, RapidFire/Sport modes and more.

Wizards Productions has conjured up Aqua Jam for iOS. In the free game, you take up the role of a family who is fighting to rescue their kidnapped parents. Players fight various enemies that attack with different weapons. Players can buy better weapons and upgrades to defend themselves and beat the pirates.

Fishington Studios has created Boxes for iOS. It's a $2.99 note-taking and project app that allows for collaboration between users as well as consolidation of several productivity features: Users may group notes, recordings, tasks, sketches, and maps together as pages in a notebook. Notebooks can be sorted and organized into a box.

Winkage is a new, free app that offers a way to chat with groups, post pics and meet new people within the same venue. Users check-in at a location, like Foursquare, and interact with other checked-in users within a Twitter-like discussion board called the ChatterBox.

iStoryTime and Fox Consumer Products have teamed up for the Ice Age Storybook App Collection for iOS. The collection "will engage readers on a new level, immersing them in the world of Ice Age beyond the big screen" and features character audio narration and vivid imagery. The Ice Age Movie Storybook App Collection can be purchased for $0.99. The other storybooks are available as in-app purchases for $2.99 from the Apple App Store.
