iPhone/iPod touch/iPad apps for Sept. 7

Here are the latest iPhone/iPod touch/iPod/iPad apps. You can find 'em at the Apple App Store (www.itunes.com/appstore/).

The App Collective has announced Earthquake Buddy 1.0 (US$3.99). In the event of an earthquake above 5.5 on the Richter scale, the user's buddies are instantaneously and automatically sent an email, from the cloud, showing a Google map of their location. After 30 minutes, if the user has not heard from his buddies, they can contact emergency services to alert them of their buddies' location.

Rapid Turtle Games has released Jungle Haste 1.0 for iOS. It's a $1.99, jump-and-run game in which players help a little alien guy to survive in the jungle and return home.

Quantum Clockwork has introduced Puzzle Poker for the iPhone and iPad. The app challenges players to arrange a grid of playing cards into the best poker hands they can. The app features over 20,000 puzzle combinations. To play, 25 cards are placed in a 5x5 grid. Puzzle solvers must figure out how to arrange the cards to form the best poker hands across every row and column -- all at once. Puzzle Poker 1.0 is free; additional puzzles and features are available with an in-app purchase for $0.99.

Awesome App Lab has unveiled Duckin Moles for iOS. In the free memory testing game, players must get their character across the levels without getting blown to bits. All Moles have their own style. Each level is different and full of hazards such as bombs and dynamite.

Luc Regnault has debuted Froggy Dial for the iPhone. The $1.99 app lets you search for and connect with address book contacts using one hand.

Jonathan Mulcahy has unleashed Monster Matcher for the iPad. It's a $0.99 memory with three levels of difficulty.

Luma Creative has premiered Magic Belles: Magic Music for iOS. The £1.49 app represents the first time the children's characters have appeared in an app. Created to introduce children to the world of music, Magic Belles: Magic Music features seven mini-games to entertain girls between the ages of three and six.

OutbackApp has created B4iGo: Movement reminder 1.0 for the iPhone and iPad. The $1.99 app offers a new approach to making reminders more immediate and time independent. B4iGo waits, upon detecting a disturbance on your device where it will vibrate, display and call out your reminder to you.

Wales Interactive has developed Stride Files: The Square Murder 1.0 for iOS. In the $1.99 detective adventure game, you join Chief Inspector Errol Chadwich and pathologist Elizibeth Stride as you try to solve the mystery of two deaths at the Henson manor.

BuzlyLabs has rolled out The End 1.0 for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. It's a $0.99 blaster game in which your job is to destroy all of the space ships and asteroids to prevent them from falling to the floor and destroying the ground that we live on.

Chillingo has given us Monkey Slam for iOS. It's a $0.99 brick-breaking game.

Autodesk has cooked up the free Autodesk 123D Catch app for the iPhone. Complementing the iPad, desktop and web app versions, the app lets users take photos from their camera on iPhone and upload them to the cloud where the photos are converted into a 3D model.

De Agostini, one of Europe's largest publishers of educational and entertainment publications, makes its U.S. debut with the release of their educational app, How My Body Works on iOS. The app uses 3D male and female models to guide readers on an interactive adventure through the human body. Individual systems for the How My Body Works app are available as in-app purchases for $1.99 each, while the bundle package containing all of the body's systems is available for $9.99.
