Apple laptops have 27% market share in the U.S.


During a special media event today, Apple CEO Tim Cook says response to the Retina display MacBook Pro has been tremendous. Its success -- and that of the company's other portables, including the MacBook Air -- have seen the company take the number one position in laptop share in the U.S.

Cook says that Apple has 27% market share in the U.S. Over the past year, the Mac has outgrown the overall personal computer market 15% to 2%. And for the past six years in a row, the Mac has grown significantly faster than the PC market, Cook says.
