Apple rumors: TSMC investment, Mac OS X 10.8.2, more

Here are the latest Apple rumors from the blogosphere:

"Couple of month ago TSMC refused to give Apple priority on its production lanes, arguing it wanted to retain its freedom. Today the company is reported to have announced to chips production equipment manufacturer its goal to invest 10 billion USD in 2013. The goal of such investment would be to have production capacity able to respond to any demand at any time. We can easily imagine that TSMC would be interested in producing Ax chips for Apple, today manufactured by Samsung." -- "HardMac" (www.hardmac.com)

"Just over a month ago, Ars Technica reported that many users had noticed a significant decrease in battery life on their notebooks after upgrading from OS X Lion to OS X Mountain Lion. In its own testing, Ars Technica saw a 38% decrease in battery life following the upgrade." -- "MacRumors" (www.macrumors.com)

"Over the past several weeks, a number of renderings and even physical mockups of Apple's rumored 'iPad mini' have surfaced, offering a good idea of the device's size and appearance should the leaked specs being used by case makers prove accurate. While a number of the renderings and mockups have shown the iPad mini next to existing devices like the full-size iPad or iPhone, a new set of photos [Google translation] reposted by Nowhereelse.fr shows the best view yet of how the device will look in the user's hand." -- "MacRumors" (www.macrumors.com)

"Apple supplier Foxconn denies using forced student labor: Labor groups and workers, however, said students are being forced to work at the Foxconn factories in China" -- "Computerworld" (www.computerworld.com)

"iOS developer Will Strafach posted a Tweet a few minutes ago stating that the iPhone 5 and the updated iPod touch reportedly due for introduction at tomorrow's media event will support a new panorama photo mode that will enable users to capture multiple photos that can be automatically stitched together into a single panoramic image." -- "MacRumors" (www.macrumors.com)

"Apple is reportedly prepared to launch a new iPod touch with a 1,136-by-640-pixel display running an S5L8942X processor that will be less powerful than the S5L8950X CPU in the next iPhone." -- "AppleInsider" (www.appleinsider.com)
