MacTech Conference for Apple Developers and IT Pros, Oct. 17-19, in Los Angeles, has announced its evening activities, and entertainment.

The event: a three-day, information-packed event that will have sessions and activities throughout the day and evening. This immersive conference is hotel-based, giving attendees the opportunity to not only learn from the best, but also to meet new people and spend time with their peers as well. Information about the conference is at https://www.mactech.com/conference .

In addition to presentations of all types for IT Pros, Enterprise, Education, consultants and developers, MacTech has a number of stand out presentations such as JPL’s talk on how “Curiosity talks to earth,” a keynote by Matt Drance on “Tech’s role in shaping the future,” and visionary talk on the “Post-PC era and modern tool sets.” MacTech Conference is very much about the relationships formed, and the activities are specifically designed to help people spend time with others.

On the first evening, MacTech Conference attendees will be guests at nearby Walt Disney Animation Studios. Not only will they get a behind-the-scenes look at the Animation Studios and talk with Disney technologists and artists, but also have a rare look at how Walt Disney Animation Studios uses advanced technology to create their animated films. The studio’s upcoming feature, “Wreck-It Ralph,” features technological innovations and achievements, including having the most unique characters for any animated film (188 characters). The studio has been home to a number of achievements including inventing the multiplane camera, realistic animation of special effects and human characters together, and the first feature film to be shot using a 100% digital process.

On the second evening, MacTech’s party tradition continues with a walk down Universal’s CityWalk to Jillian’s where attendees can enjoy all that Jillian’s has to offer (bowling, a Guitar Hero room, air hockey, video games, arcade, billiards and more). Or, for true entertainment, attendees can try their hand at the now famous karaoke at the party.

Party Platinum sponsor CD Projekt RED studio is a game developer known for The Witcher franchise of RPGs (role playing games). The first part of the installment is already available for Mac OS X and its sequel will be released for Mac this fall, and attendees will get a chance to see why many believe that The Witcher 2 will be the best RPG available for Mac.

“MacTech Conference’s activities are all about people getting to spend time with one another, and form the bonds that can only be done in person,” said Neil Ticktin, editor-in-chief/publisher, MacTech Magazine. “Our evening at Disney Animation Studios, and our event party tradition gives our guests the opportunity to have a ton of fun, and be a part of the community.”

As part of the entertainment flavor of MacTech Conference 2012, “Profiles in History: Treasures from the Vaults” will have a variety of Hollywood treasures on display the first day of the event, during registration and throughout the day.  Attendees will be able to meet Joe Maddalena, host of Syfy’s “Hollywood Treasure” and owner of “Profiles in History,” and get a sneak peak at some of the most iconic pieces of original Hollywood Memorabilia in the world.

MacTech Conference is a multi-track event with a focus on both programming/development, as well as IT/Enterprise. Sessions will focus on both desktop and mobile with appropriate levels of attention paid to the Mac and iOS. Check out the speaker and topic list (https://www.mactech.com/conference/sessions) for specific sessions and speaker list.

The event will be held Wednesday through Friday Oct. 17-19. The conference kicks off at 10 am on Wednesday and is packed with sessions using MacTech’s well-established running order format. The evenings are filled with special activities and events designed specifically to have fun and give attendees an opportunity to form bonds with their peers and meet new people.
