iPhone/iPod touch/iPad apps for Sept. 27

Here are the latest iPhone/iPod touch/iPod/iPad apps. You can find 'em at the Apple App Store (www.itunes.com/appstore/).

Score Media has announced Tunecast 1.0 for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. The US$1.99 music player enables listeners to cache and save music videos straight from YouTube, create playlists, and more.

Lsygames has released Green Up Lite 1.0 for iOS. The free app shows kids how to grow plants, offers main gardening concepts, and gives kids the basics of ecology and biodiversity.

TnT Brain GbR has introduced Jotto and Jotto ABC for the iPad. The apps -- available for $0.99 each for a limited time -- turn the Apple tablet into a drawing board where kids learn how to draw their first images, how to write letters and numbers by following the movements of an animated pencil called "Jotto."

PixelPower has launched Limon's Epic Quest 1.0. It's a $0.99, 2D action adventure platformer. The evil wizard Zolo has cursed the land and has awaken the evil souls to cause havoc and destruction. You play as Limon, armed with his mighty sword to hack and slash his way through zombies, evil eye's and reanimated knights. Travel through castles, dungeons, and even a futuristic world to defeat the evil souls and take down the evil wizard Zolo.

Matteo Rossi has unveiled Steel Profiles 1.0. The $4.99 app includes steel shapes from American, Canadian, British and European standards. All profiles are searchable by different criteria: name, area, elastic modulus, inertia and radius of gyration. Data can be sorted by multiple properties in both ascending or descending order.

Smile has debuted PDFpen 1.0 for the iPhone. With the app -- available for $4.99 for a limited time -- users can add text, images, and signatures to PDFs, make corrections, resize and delete images, and fill out forms. PDFs can be annotated with comments and highlighting.

You can saunter up to the batter's box and hit one out of the park in the latest release from Distinctive Developments: Boomtime Baseball 1.0. Set in the 1920s, the free app is designed to capture the spirit of baseball's legendary athletes like Babe Ruth and Jackie Robinson in a nostalgic home run derby.

The Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology has given us a new iPad app that will allow readers to access interventional radiology literature and multimedia -- when they choose, ensuring fast, convenient access to up-to-the-minute peer-reviewed articles, podcasts, images and more. JVIR subscribers receive free access to journal content via the JVIR iPad app. There's a cost to non-subscribers to download content.
