iPhone/iPod touch/iPad apps for Oct. 12


Here are the latest iPhone/iPod touch/iPod/iPad apps. You can find 'em at the Apple App Store (www.itunes.com/appstore/).

Ducktv has announced Ducktv Mobile, a mobile video player for the Baby Channel's programming. The app offers subscribers access to a selection of 120 episodes from the channel's most popular shows. Automatic subscription prices are available for US$4.99 or one month, $9.99 for two months and $14.99 for six months.

Chillingo has released Kumo Lumo. In the free game, you take control of a lovable cloud and save your world from all the nasty things intent on destroying it.

Sharon Simons has introduced the Adoption App. It's a $4.99 working guide that offers a step-by-step roadmap through the adoption process.

Kudu Apps has launched Phumbler, a social puzzle game for iOS devices. The app sends a jumbled photo of the user's selection for recipients to solve using a streamlined asynchronous game interface. Phumbler is free; an ad-free pro upgrade is also available as a $1.99 in-app purchase.

Vivid Games has unveiled BMX Jam 1.0. It's a $0.99, sideways-scrolling time trial game that lets players attempt amazing tricks, rack up mega high scores, and unlock new levels while trying to complete challenges in the quickest possible time.

Tribal Nova has debuted i Learn With Boing: Ocean Adventures. The free app is designed to teach young children language skills such as vocabulary, listening and comprehension and sentence formation while playing with a set of underwater characters.

Slim Cricket Books has published "The Witch With No Name," an $4.99, interactive ebook for the iPad. It tells the story of a witch who lost her name and her attempts to find it.

Shane Welldon has presented Time to Time. It's a $1.99 calculator app allowing users to perform a variety of calculations with times and durations including addition, subtraction, and "to" operations for calculating the duration from one time to another time. The app allows multiple times, durations and operations in the same expression.

Danike has developed Med Quiz 1.0. The $0.99 medication quiz app offers over 3,500 possible questions spanning five different question types. No two quizzes will ever be the same because the app intelligently creates questions based on user preferences and pre-programmed question types. Users can choose to take a randomly generated quiz, or select specific drug classes to be tested and more.

Mana Mobile has created Mana Pass Builder 1.0. The free app was designed to enable businesses to enhance customer experience through Passbook integration. Mana Pass Builder lets users build a base of customers in their Passbook network .

iT-Guy Technologies has rolled out Geese Squad. The $0.99 game puts you in the role of the lead goose in a flock flying south for the winter. You must lead your flock in their classic "V" formation through obstacles and other diversions.
