MacMate takes on Google, Dropbox, Microsoft with MacMate Disk


MacMate (http://www.macmate.me), which launched as an Apple MobileMe replacement, has announced its first major update since June: adding Calendar sharing, an iOS App, introducing two new packages and increasing the storage on its current Pro version to a 25GB.

The changes are designed to offer an alternative for users looking at cloud-disk services like Dropbox, Google Drive and Microsoft's SkyDrive services. MacMate Disk costs US$39 per year featuring 5GB of online cloud storage, 1x email with domain support and unlimited calendar hosting.

MacMate Classic -- at $59 per year -- features double the storage at 10GB and galleries support (albeit with limited themes).

MacMate Pro -- at $85 per year -- features 25GB of cloud storage, galleries, three email accounts, unlimited calendars and web hosting.
