Mac OS X software updates for Nov. 16


Here are the latest updates for Mac OS X apps:

Microsoft has posted Office for Mac software updates for both the 2011 and 2008 versions of the software The updates are highly recommended, as they fix "extremely important" functionality issues and improve overall security. The 2011 and 2008 updates are available as free downloads from Microsoft Support (support.microsoft.com).

Blackmagic Design (www.blackmagicdesign.com) has announced HyperDeck 3.6, an update to its solid state disk (SSD) recorder. The upgrade adds support for Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) into HyperDeck Shuttle 2, plus new closed caption support for all HyperDeck models.

CS Odessa says its ConceptDraw product line (www.conceptdraw.com) now includes Skype integration.

Ivideon (www.ivdeon.com) has given us Ivideon Server 3.0, now providing Mac users access to the free, international, cloud-based, video-surveillance web service: Ivideon Cloud. Compatible with most webcams and IP cameras, users can sign up for a free, private account.

Bigasoft YouTube Downloader Pro (www.bigasoft.com) has been tweaked to support Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. It can t download and convert YouTube videos for playing Macs and iOS devices.

Bensoftware (www.bensoftware.com) has released SecuritySpy 2.2.2, an update to its multi-camera video surveillance software. New features in this version include a new MPEG-4 streaming method for live video and audio viewing on Mac and Windows web browsers, and support for new network video devices.

Global Delight has announced Boom 1.6, a new version of its menu bar app volume booster and system-wide equalizer that lets you increase the volume of a Mac laptop and desktop's video and music files. The upgrade adds Retina display support.

DEVONtechnologies has updated all editions of DEVONagent to version 3.4 with new search options, improvements, and bug fixes. DEVONagent Pro is a search tool that allows you to search on the Internet with full control and powerful options. It's also available in a Express version.
