Wombi has announced Wombi Detective 1.0, its new educational game for kids four and up on the iPad, iPad mini, iPod touch and iPhone devices. It’s an US$1.99 interactive mystery with a range of possible outcomes. A series of different witnesses, thieves, crime scenes, and stolen objects create a game that can be solved multiple times.

Gameshastra has releasesd Rescube: Planet Escape 1.0 ($1.99), its first puzzle game for iOS devices. Gisu is an alien from outer space who gets stuck on the planet Rescube while he is on his way to Earth. The planet is filled with cubes which move in a particular direction only and the player has to enact the role of Gisu’s savior by moving these cubes and help him collect the missing pieces of his broken ship. Rescube: Planet Escape features over 50 levels of gameplay as well as a tutorial to get started.

TheHermonApps has introduced The Xmas App 1.0. The $0.99 app features over eight Christmas activities and games, The Xmas App allows the user to play three quiz modes from Christmas movies to Christmas music.

Min-U Guides has published “Technical Writing for Non-Native English Speakers for iOS.” It’s a $14.99 reference eBook that provides a framework for ESL authors to write professional documentation. The 203-page book includes 12 chapters, 7 appendices, and a section written in Chinese.

Activision Publishing has launched Skylanders Battlegrounds, which is now available as a physical starter pack at retail, and digitally as a standalone iOS app in the Apple App Store for $4.99. Skylanders Battlegrounds features an entirely new Action RPG experience designed from the ground up for mobile devices, featuring team-up gameplay in which the player controls two Skylanders at the same time. Episodic content, starting with twenty levels and two mega bosses upon initial release.
