Autodesk Smoke 2013 now shipping


Autodesk has announced that the new Autodesk Smoke 2013, an update of the professional video editing software, is now shipping. It costs US$3,495 per license and is available at

Smoke 2013 is designed for professional editors working in video production, corporate video, online video and other competitive creative environments. The new Smoke offers editing and effects within a single, efficient timeline-based workflow, a sleek user interface and runs on a wide variety of Macs, says Mark Strassman, Autodesk Media & Entertainment vice president strategy and marketing.

New features include: the ability to drag and drop a clip from the source player into the timeline; the ability to expand/collapse the timeline FX pipeline area; and a redesign and streamlining of the user interface and interface elements to speed up workflows.
