ATTO powers JMR's SAS/SATA RAID storage solution

ATTO Technology says it has been selected by JMR Electronics as the storage connectivity source for their latest SilverStor desktop SAS/SATA RAID storage solution.

Using ATTO’s ThunderStream RAID controller, end users can now directly connect Thunderbolt-ready ultrabooks, all-in-ones and laptops to high-performance JMR storage. This portable and lightweight eight bay solution scales to 32TB and is designed for demanding imaging and video applications used on location or on set.

ATTO ThunderStream devices provide fast, redundant and highly available connectivity to storage along with its time-tested RAID functionality, says Wayne Arvidson, vice president of marketing at ATTO Technology. Differentiating features of ATTO RAID products include Advanced Data Streaming (ADS) Technology and DriveAssure.

Arvidson says that Advanced Data Streaming is a core technology developed by ATTO that manages latency resulting in smooth data transfers and fewer dropped frames for consistent performance in high-bandwidth audio and video applications. DriveAssure monitors the performance of drives and grooms them versus failing them, thus extending their useful life, he adds. In the event of a drive failure, it ensures 100% productivity while completing drive rebuilds up to 50% faster than the competition.
