Applied Acoustics Systems (AAS) has released String Studio VS-2 for Mac OS X (10.6 or later) and Windows (XP, Vista, 7, or 8). It’s an updated 64-bit (AAX-, AU-, and VST-compatible) version of its original String Studio VS-1 string modeling synthesizer plug-in.

A new interface now divides String Studio VS-2 into three panels. Play presents shortcuts to the performance and effects parameters, including bypass switches for quick edits, as well as an Arpeggiator. Edit lets users tweak and create sounds by combining innovative acoustic modeling parameters and classic synth features. FX adds new Equalizer and Compressor modules.

String Studio VS-2 also simplifies structured organization, backup, and sharing of sounds. The factory library has l over 600 production-ready sounds across 11 categories.

String Studio VS-2 is available to buy for instant download delivery directly from Applied Acoustics Systems (http://tinyurl.com/nk82mu9) for an introductory discounted price of US$99 through the end of the month; afterward, it’s $1.99. This time-limited offer also includes the new Frontier String Studio VS-2 and AAS Player sound bank by artist and sound designer Daniel Stawczyk. String Studio VS-1 users can upgrade to String Studio VS-2 for $39.
