With BetterUnarchiver. you can compress files to Zip, 7z, and Tar. You can also create password protected 7z and Zip files on Mac for safer transmitting.

BetterUnarchiver is available now through the Cisdem website. A demo version available on the site also allows any user without a license to have a try with the app. Pricing is normally US$14.99 for a single license, $29.99 for a two-Mac license, and $49.99 for a five-Mac license. However, BetterUnarchiver is currently on sale at 50% off these prices.
