Apple launches 'Web Development for iPhone' site

Third-party applications created using web standards can extend iPhone's capabilities without compromising its reliability or security, the company adds. The first step in developing a web application for iPhone is to ensure it's fully compatible with Safari. Safari 3 Public Beta, now available for Mac and Windows, provides you with the ideal environment for Safari on iPhone compatibility testing.

Web Development for iPhone offers guidelines for preparing web content and designing a web site or web-based application for iPhone.
