Victor Castroll, an analyst with Valcent Financial Group, says Apple sold 51,000 iPads within two hours after the device went on sale.

As noted by “CNN Money” (http://brainstormtech.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2010/03/12/apple-sells-50000-ipads-in-two-hours/), his estimate — which is adjusted for the roughly 15,000 online orders that come in a typical day — jibes with a 20,000-per-hour figure published earlier by “Silicon Alley Insider” (http://www.businessinsider.com/is-apple-selling-20000-ipads-an-hour-2010-3) and the photo sharing Phanfare site (http://blog.phanfare.com/2010/03/apple-is-currently-selling-20000-ipads-per-hr-10mmhour/). That number was based on two sales made within 30 minutes that were 10,000 order numbers apart.

And in other iPad news…

° The Camera Connection Kit previously mentioned by Apple isn’t listed among the iPad accessories for sale. gives you two ways to import photos and videos from a digital camera. It lets you import your photos and videos to iPad using the camera’s USB cable. Or you can use the SD Card Reader to import photos and videos directly from the camera’s SD card.

° The iPad will have a screen rotation lock feature. It’s found above the volume controls and lets users force their iPad into landscape or portrait mode.
