Apple software updates for Dec. 9

BravoBug has released EasyBatch 1.2, an update of the image processing tool for Mac OS X 10.4 and higher. The new version features over a dozen improvements, including a brand new interface, saturation and contrast filters, automatic folder creation, more free watermarks, enhanced error checking, and several bug fixes.

Redcort is offering a public beta of its upcoming Virtual TimeClock 2009, an update of the time management software for small to medium size business owners. The final version is due in early 2009.

Benoit Kaisin, a Mac software specialist in databases, has updated GeoEdu, software that generates more than 90.000 questions on the basis of an Atlas he developed by gathering thousands of data including the populations from 2000 to 2008 and the member states of international organizations, to version 1.2. The upgrade adds new territories and water borders.

Derman Enterprises has released Sync'Em 1.7, an update of the sync hub for Macs. It's compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 and higher. The upgrade adds support for Exchange Shared Folders, adds options to allow self-signed and/or expired certificates on Exchange servers, improves the Basic Setup assistant and fixes some problems connecting to some Exchange servers and syncing certain calendar events.

Howling Moon Software has released ScribBall 1.1, an update of their arcade game for iPhone and iPod Touch. ScribBall now pauses and can be resumed when users receive a call. The new version leaves room for more special effects; there are now three times as many particles. ScribBall boasts a variety of special effect balls, such as the explosion ball, the wildcard ball, and the locked ball.

Callas Software has released an update of pdfAutoOptimizer. The upgrade supports Acrobat 9 and Switch 08 Update 4.

Akvis has released Akvis Sketch 8.5, an update of the software that converts photos to pencil and watercolor drawings. The new version offers a new tab Text, which allows adding a signature or a greeting to your drawing.

Brainjuice has released a public beta of Blogo 1.2, its Mac desktop blog editor and Twitter client/ This release adds support for Expression Engine, a popular content management system, and Ping.fm, a service that updates multiple social networks with a single login, to the list of supported services.

Stairways Software has released Keyboard Maestro 3.5, the new version of its productivity enhancer for Mac OS X. This release adds support for remotely controlling your Mac using Keyboard Maestro Control, and new iPhone application available from the Apple App Store. This allows you to execute any macro on your Mac from anywhere with your iPhone or iPod touch.

Zykloid Software has announced Posterino 1.4.1, an update to their popular life poster and postcard creator for Mac OS X. The upgrade offers improved image recovery of image files that have been used in a Posterino document and then moved to a new location on the same hard disk. The management of custom templates has been improved. There are also various small bug-fixes and user interface improvements.

Macgamestore.com has posted an open beta of its digital download application, Mac Games Arcade, is now available for the general public. Mac Games Arcade allows users to download, purchase and manage their Mac games all through a single Mac interface.

app4Mac has released CheckUp 2.0 Beta 2, a new beta version of the tool that allows you to check the health and monitor the behavior of a Mac computer (even from a remote computer). It sports a new user interface and several new functions.
