Apple unveils details of MobileMe extension eligibility and details

MobileMe is a new Internet service that delivers push email, push contacts and push calendars from the MobileMe service in the “cloud” to native applications on the iPhone, iPod touch, Macs and PCs. It replaces the .Mac service. Apple has [url=http://www.macsimumnews.com/index.php/archive/apple_acknowledges_mobileme_problems/]acknowledged problems[/url] with the MobileMe backbone system that leads to authorization charges of US$100 or more during the trial account signup.

In an online note, Apple says: "The transition from .Mac to MobileMe was a lot rockier than we had hoped. We will be extending subscriptions by 30 days to customers free of charge to express our appreciation for their patience during the transition period."
