The Ediface is fully plug and play compatible Mac OS X; no driver is necessary. It will be available later this year; pricing hasn't been announced.
The SoundTech Ediface opens up a new world to guitarists by allowing them to control software synths and instruments with programs such as Apple GarageBand, according to the folks at SoundTech. They say that, for years, digital keyboard players enjoyed unparalleled flexibility and functionality in interfacing and composing with their computers, such as the ability to instantly create notation and change sounds generated by their instruments with the push of a button. The SoundTech Ediface now offers this flexibility and functionality to guitarists as well as the ability to use a real guitar with computer games.
The package includes Guitar Wizard, a game that allows users to jam along to popular songs while learning to play a real guitar. In the "near future" SoundTech Ediface users will enjoy the ability to connect a real guitar to console systems bridging the gap between gaming and reality, according to the folks at SoundTech.
