CodeWeavers announces 'Great American Lame Duck Presidential Challenge'
The CodeWeavers Great American Lame Duck Presidential Challenge, which CodeWeavers launches today, will make its software products downloadable for free for 24 hours at the company web site if President Bush accomplishes at least one of the following goals:
° Reduce gas prices: return the average gallon of gas in the twin cities metro area to US$2.79 per gallon;
° Reduce food prices: return the average gallon of milk in the Twin Cities metro area to $3.50;
° Create more jobs: create one net job in the U.S. this calendar year;
° Rejuvenate the housing market: return the median home price in the twin cities to $233,000;
° Bring Osama Bin-Laden to justice.
If President Bush meets the goal by the 28th of any given month through the end of 2008 or by the last day of his term in January 2009, CodeWeavers will give away its software on the first day of the following month for 24 hours. "As a parent, a small business owner and a resident of the swing state of Minnesota, I'm very serious about this offer," says Jeremy White, president of CodeWeavers. "With elections approaching, the nation's business has a tendency to languish. And yet, at a time when our country is at war, and facing a faltering economy, rising oil prices and myriad other challenges, it is imperative that the next six months are not wasted."
