Donovan's Views: more corporates accept the iPhone platform

Watching the three minute video courtesy of ZDNet.com, I heard the iPhone was accepted in all four companies. There was varying degrees of company support policies but enough elaboration on the degrees that indicated the iPhone enterprise growth trend will clearly grow both from the bottom levels of user demand and the top levels from managers.

The technology representatives on the video were from the following small outfits:

Accenture -- 170,000 employees
HP -- 150,000 employees
Adobe -- 7,317 employees
Nasdaq -- 2,382 employees

Some of the iPhone enterprise naysayers can still point out some of the weaknesses of the one year old iPhone platform and spread fear about using it but shall we agree that the enterprise uptake at these four corporations came from the horses mouths in this case? The trend of acceptance of the iPhone in enterprises trend is a fact with these four companies if the four representatives are to be believed and the naysayers can't say it doesn't exist there now.

I enjoyed the short concise soft spoken statement from the Adobe representative. And that is despite the lack of Flash being accepted to run on an iPhone by Apple (disclaimer: I am not a fan of Flash crashing my Mac's browsers on a daily basis). It has not stopped Adobe from still using and thus experiencing the iPhone platform and hopefully we can see some future products from Adobe at the App Store soon.

The ex-Apple and current HP representative Russ Daniels threw in the spin of concerns legal requirements of a publically listed company to waterdown the idea of a wider use within HP than they care to let others know. We did note that the other three companies are subjected to the same legal requirements but did not feel the need to qualify their statements.

It is nice to know these four corporates are on the same iPhone enterprise growing usage trend and I am sure it will help their businesses. I am sure we will hear of others in due course.
