Enhance Technology announces new Mini-SAS desktop storage lines


The new EnhanceBOX E400 & E800 subsystems are next generation 3.5-inch disks based JBOD storage arrays with cable-less backplane and airflow designed for maximum performance, reliability, affordability and low operation cost, according to the folks at Enhance Technology. 
Designed for use with the latest PCI-E Mini-SAS RAID controllers, EnhanceBOX E400 and E800 MS lines integrate I/O technologies such as SFF-8088 Mini-SAS interface with locking connectors, aluminum material construction, built-in SAS/SATA compatible backplane, hot-swappable HDD drive trays with individual keylock, and 80 Plus energy efficient power supply.

The E400 MS sports a single Mini-SAS port with field replaceable components for ease of maintenance resulting in reduction in total cost of ownership. Capable of exceeding speeds over 250MB/s, the new E400 MS supports both high capacity SATA and high performance SAS drives with studio quality, low noise power supply and cooling fan module ideal for uncompressed HD video and real-time HD playback and live streaming.


The new EnhanceBOX E800 MS is a compact eight-drive storage array with dual Mini-SAS connections. It delivers 450MB/second when configured in RAID 5. I has a cable-less enclosure design, hot swappable fan implementation, and 80 Plus energy-efficient 250W power supply.

The EnhanceBOX E400 MS and E800 MS will be available through authorized dealers worldwide starting in March with retail prices of US$495 and $675, respectively.
