The iPad is among the eight finalists for the 2010 Fiasco Awards (http://www.fiascoawards.com/), reports "Typically Spanish" (http://www.typicallyspanish.com/news/publish/article_25037.shtml).

The jury announced the selection of the final eight from the 32 candidates nominated in Barcelona for the second year of the Fiasco Awards. The jury said the iPad is nominated as it could "go the same was as Obama with the Nobel Prize and win the award before it does anything."

The jury adds that the only innovation with respect to the iPhone and iPod touch is that the iPad is bigger and can’t make phone calls. They note its lack of flash, camera, USB port, SIM card dock, a lack of multitasking and more.

The Fiasco Awards is a non-profit private initiative to reward the "best IT projects that have ended up as a fiasco." Candidate projects can be products, services o just ideas of any area in the sector of the information and communication technologies (ICT). Although projects could have been developed by individuals, groups, institutions or companies, the awards always refers to the project itself.
