iPhone/iPod apps for Nov. 19

THQ Wireless has announced Star Wars: Trench Run, an US$4.99 game for the iPhone and iPod touch. The game, developed by leading studio Infrared5 in conjunction with Lucasfilm Ltd., leverages the iPhone platform to deliver simple motion controls and realistic game play to enable players to recreate a scene from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.

Fox Mobile Entertainment (FME) has launched a new Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs iPhone game based on Twentieth Century Fox’s animated feature film. The new Ice Age iPhone and iPod touch application ($4.99) features the movie’s fictional saber-toothed squirrel, Scrat, whose single-minded acorn obsession takes on a parallel plot throughout the Ice Age movie trilogy.

MultiEducator today introduces Builder Pro 1.0, a $17.99 builder's calculation, formulation and reference tool for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Builder Pro includes parts of the International Building Code, Mechanical Code, Electrical Code, and the ADA code. It combines all of the formulas of MultiEducator's Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC professional programs and adds specific calculations used by builders and developers.

Modern Geek has released Our Secrets 1.0 for iPhone and iPod touch. The $0.99 app gives you access to real people’s secrets and an opportunity to share your own anonymously with the features you want. Secrets can be read by category, rating, date shared, number of comments, number of times shared and by user favorites.

Alawar Entertainmen has released The Treasures of Montezuma 2, the sequel to its iPhone/iPod game has been released and costs $1.99.

TomTom has released version 1.2 of its $99 app for iPhone and iPod touch users. The new version of the software will be made available for free to existing TomTom app for iPhone customers. Version 1.2 is now also compatible with the iPod touch.

Derek Clark has announced Swipe Ruler 1.2 for the iPhone and iPod touch. The $0.99 app offers a way to measure items for a close estimation of length. Swipe Ruler uses the accelerometers in your phone to measure flat surfaces from a few inches up to several feet. Click the ruler, touch the screen to begin, and slide the app along the surface to measure. Then touch the screen to stop measuring.

Daisyamerica and Adelante Consulting has announced The Third Advent 1.0, a $3.99 ebook application by Gregoire de Kalbermatten. The Third Advent takes the reader on a journey through 6,000 years of politics, economics, philosophy and religion.

Smart Apps Solutions today released Black Friday Wish 1.0, a free app for the iPhone and iPod touch. It's designed to help users find where the best deals are located this holiday season.

Mundue has released a new, free iPhone/iPod touch game: reMovem Christmas Edition, a themed version of the reMovem puzzle game reMovem. The Christmas Edition adds fanciful artwork and seasonal sound effects.

Portable Arts has released iCarol 2.0 for the iPhone and iPod touch. The $0.99 app lets users send virtual Christmas Carols to other iCarol and non-iCarol users. Users can select friends from their contact lists or type in emails to send a virtual Carol. Friends with iCarol will be able to view lyrics, hear the music, and see either a slideshow of holiday images or a virtual yule log. Non-iCarol owners can still get Carols in their eMails.

Plaid World Studios has announced Mouse House 2, the $2.99 sequel to the puzzle game for the iPhone and iPod touch. You touch the screen to make Mouse move a space in that direction, or hold your finger down to keep him moving.

Touch Foo has released Soosiz 1.1, a free version of its 2D platforming game. In Soosiz, the player assumes the role of a hero, running and jumping around different surfaces and obstacles, rescuing his friends, killing monsters and collecting coins.

RaiX UG has updated 3D Aquarium, its $0.99 app for iPhone and iPod touch users, to version 1.1 It's "for people who don't have the time, room or money for a live pet. It's also a good way to 'test the waters' before taking on the responsibility of pet ownership" and offers a choice of three different aquariums and various fish and fish tank accessories.

G.M.Y.C. Applications has updated Yachts, its $0.99 app for iPhone and iPod touch users, to version 1.1. It contains photos and statistics for 50 of the largest and most expensive pleasure yachts in the world.
