Here are the latest iPhone/iPod touch/iPod/iPad apps announced. You can find ’em at the Apple App Store (hxttp://www.itunes.com/appstore/).

To accompany the long-awaited iPad launch, Zondervan is one of the first publishers to release titles in the iBookstore beginning Saturday, April 3, 2010. More than 1,000 titles will be available for download from all product groups. Zondervan plans to release all its future ebooks in an iPad version and is working to release more than 150 additional books in the next three months.

Dragon Dictation, the mobile dictation app you’ve seen on the iPhone and the iPod touch, is now available to download on the iPad. And it’s free for a limited time. With Dragon Dictation for the iPad, users can take advantage of the power of Dragon NaturallySpeaking to speak their email messages just like the previously-released Dragon Dictation for iPhone and iPod touch.

And Dragon Dictation for iPad also lets people speak and save drafts of documents, emails, to-do lists, social media status updates, and more in the new Dragon Dictation Notes feature. This latest edition is designed specifically for the iPad and capitalizes on the larger screen size to include the new Dragon Dictation Notes feature, where dictated text can be easily saved, viewed and managed.  Dragon Dictation for iPad can also be used in either portrait or landscape mode.

NPR has released the NPR App and a fully optimized web site for the iPad. The site and app are both free of charge and offer two entirely new and distinctive ways to access and experience NPR’s signature multimedia content.   
 
Using a magazine-style presentation, the NPR App highlights News, Arts & Life, and Music content, all core editorial strengths for NPR. It is also the ideal destination to discover hundreds of NPR stations and their programs. The web site — which can be accessed by typing NPR.org in the iPad’s Safari web browser or through search engines or social media links features all of NPR.org’s content, including its signature photo journalism, but has been optimized for the touch screen and given a more prominent audio player on the assumption that listening will be a key part of the iPad experience.

“USA TODAY” says its USA TODAY App for iPad will be available tomorrow on the App Store. Access to the App will be free until July 4 courtesy of USA TODAY’s launch partner, Courtyard by Marriott. After the initial launch period the app will be available via a fee-based subscription.

Zinio has announced the availability of its Zinio App for iPad. The free app enables you to subscribe to downloadable versions of multimedia magazines.

TIME announced the launch of its iPad app, available for $4.99 on the Apple App Store. The TIME app will have all the content of the weekly magazine with additional photo slideshows and videos and will allow the user to flip through sections as well as zoom in and out of text and photos. Available weekly on Fridays, the TIME app is one of the first apps available at launch and is the beginning of evolving TIME content for the iPad.

Bonnier Corp.’s “Popular Science” has launched its Popular Science+ tablet edition to run on the iPad. The free app features “pages that are easy to browse and to read, allowing users to enjoy the full-color diagrams, images and in-depth reporting Popular Science is famous for. It includes the April issue plus a storefront to buy future issues every month from within the app and a library to manage back issues.

Yahoo! Inc. has announced Yahoo! Entertainment for the iPad. The free app lets you explore entertainment content, television listings, videos, news and more.

“The New York Times” has released The New York Times Editors’ Choice app, offering a selection of the latest news, business and technology news, opinion and features chosen by “Times” editors that can be downloaded automatically to the iPad.

CBS is offering programming from across its content properties for the iPad. Consumers will be able to watch streaming video content from hit CBS television shows and CBS.com technology content from CNET.com; they can also download iPad applications from Simon & Schuster, and a customized audio application from CBS Radio. However, the content isn’t free.

Online media company blip.tv has released an iPad compatible version of its web site. The mobile destination site will feature the first launch of an HTML5 player by blip.tv, enabling enhanced streaming of blip.tv’s wide ranging video content.

The Weather Channel (TWC) has announced The Weather Channel App for iPad. The free app gives consumers customized weather information at the tap of a finger, including an extensive index of maps, an enhanced video center and severe weather coverage alerts.

Dailymotion, one of the largest web video sites in the world, has launched the free Dailymotion application for the iPad. It’s a video viewing app.

Real estate Web site Zillow.com has released Zillow for the iPad. The free app presents users with homes for sale, homes for rent, Zestimate home values, photos, home details and historical data on 95 million U.S. homes.

Digital Playground (http://www.digitalplayground.com) now lets iPad users shop, purchase and view movies view movies instantly without any changes or installs to the Apple device.

The Onion, “America’s Finest News Source” (which spoofs the news), has launched its free iPhone application — sponsored by Jack Link’s Beef Jerky — as a part of its advertising partnership with the meat snack brand.

comiXology, a retail service and digital comic distributor, has launched its Comics by comiXology app for iPad. Its free, but you purchase the comics.

Renkara Media Group has announced Contig 1.0 for the iPad. It’s a $3.99 math game designed to help both kids and adults practice math and computation skills, build strong problem-solving strategies, improve memory, and enhance reasoning.

PBS KIDS today announced the availability of its Super Why! App for the iPad. The $2.99 app is based on the award-winning preschool series from Out of the Blue Enterprises. The app is designed to take advantage of iPad’s larger screen and Multi-Touch user interface to “enhance the educational experience, helping children achieve the power to read with four Super Why! interactive literacy games.”

Autodesk SketchBook Pro for iPad is now available for the iPad for $7.99. Using the same paint engine as its desktop and mobile counterparts, it provides digital sketching, as well as beefed up key new features like: full screen canvas size of 1024 x 768; Multi-Touch interface allowing  up to three finger gestures; 75 brushes with customizable settings; and synthetic pressure sensitivity.

Agile Web Solutions has released 1Password for iPad 1.0. Owners are now able to securely use and manage their 1Password information on-the-go with the $6.99 app that’s designed exclusively for iPad. Like its versions for Mac, iPhone, and iPod touch, 1Password for iPad securely stores personal information like website logins, text notes, bank accounts, credit cards, software licenses, club memberships, identity information, and more.

Blue Crowbar Software has released Impression 1.0, a free watermark app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. With it, you can add a name or a copyright statement to photos from the iPad or iPhone Photo Library. The app is based on the company’s watermark plug-ins for Aperture and iPhoto. Any text can be used, including an optional copyright symbol. Watermarks can be dragged to any location on the photo and can be resized by making a zoom or pinch gesture with two fingers.

Lonely Planet, a travel content provider, today is offering 1000 Ultimate Experiences for the iPad. Inspired by the bestselling Lonely Planet book called “1000 Ultimate Experiences” the $19.99 app re-imagines the book reading experience as a deck of 1,000 cards that users can swipe, flick and thumb their way through, bringing together the top 1000 ideas, places and activities to plan a trip.

Presslite has announced three iPad apps. Tweet Flow is one of the first Twitter clients specifically developed for the iPad. My Blackboard is a new application that turns your iPad into a blackboard! The application lets you write and draw everything you want on the board, using colored chalks. Weather Pad application for iPad provides real time weather information based on your current location (GPS or WiFi) wherever you are in the world. They’re $0.99 each.

Paramount Digital Entertainment and Freeverse have announced Top Gun for iPad. The $4.99 app is an arcade shooter with 10 missions.

Nickelodeon has announced two iPad games. In Dora the Explorer Coloring Adventures ($4.99), kids can go on creative adventures with a combination sticker and coloring book app. In Daily Jigsaw ($0.99), players can download a new high-resolution puzzle every day that features photos and fun facts submitted from Shockwave’s jigsaw community.

Warner Bros. Digital Distribution is offering Sherlock Holmes Mysteries for iPad, a $2.99 game that transports players to the seedy underbelly of 19th century London. Using the iPad’s multi-touch technology, players step into the shoes of the intrepid Sherlock Holmes who finds himself in a whodunit puzzle adventure game.

Finger Arts has introduced Hangman RSS HD App for iPad. The $3.99 app lets you read the news by providing an original way to discover and enjoy the latest headlines from major news sources. 

Good.iWare is serving up an iPad version of its $0.99 GoodReader app. The document viewer handles PDF and TXT files. It sports text search capability and active hyperlinks.

TLA Systems has unleashed PCalc for the iPad, a $9.99 scientific calculator. They’ve also released PCalc Lite for the iPad, a fully functional and free calculator.

LanSchool Technologies, a provider of classroom management software, says LanSchool 7.4 now includes support for the iPad with a new app called the Teacher’s Assistant. The Teacher’s Assistant allows teachers to perform critical classroom management features such as thumbnail monitoring, sending messages, blanking screens, voting, limiting the web and applications. It’s free. However, in order to manage students, a valid LanSchool v7.4 license is required.

Big Fish Games has unveiled Amazon: Hidden Expedition for the iPad. The $9.99 app offers players a new take on the hidden object game genre by allowing two players to compete against each other on a single iPad.

PopCap has released Plants vs. Zombies HD for the iPad. The $9.99 game offers all 50 levels of Adventure and QuickPlay modes, as well as Survival mode, from the original Mac and Windows game. It also includes four all-new achievements (for a total of 17) and 18 mini-games.

GameHouse, the casual games studio brand of RealNetworks, has announced the availability of PartyPad – Marble Mixer App for the iPad. The S$4.99 app brings new interactivity to the marble game experience.

Gameloft has launched eight apps for the iPad. The games are: N.O.V.A. Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance, Modern Combat: Sandstorm, Dungeon Hunter, Asphalt 5, UNO NFL 2010, Let’s Golf and Real Football 2010.

Riada has announced aphonium 1.0, an audio and visual generative art app for the iPad. It costs $6.99 and has been designed for musicians and visual artists to help generate fresh ideas, or those wanting to chill out and relax while contemplating the universe.

Control4, which specializes in IP-based home control systems, is shipping the free Control4 My Home application for iPad, which was developed in collaboration with Control UI. In a Control-enabled smart home, users will be able to access lighting, temperature, music, video, security systems, web cameras and more from an iPad.

The Omni Group has released OmniGraffle and OmniGraphSketcher Apps for iPad. The former is a diagramming and concept visualization program, while the latter is a tool for fast, simple graph drawing and data plotting. The OmniGraphSketcher App for iPad is available for $14.99, and the OmniGraffle App for iPad is available for $49.99.

Freeverse has announced the availability of four apps for iPad on the App Store. Two apps, Warpgate (a $7.99 space exploration game) and CastleCraft (a free multi-player online game), are being released exclusively for iPad. The other two are Freeverse iPhone and iPod touch favorites, NBA Hotshot HD ($2.99) and Flick Fishing HD ($2.99).

Houdah Software has unveiled Sudoku Duo — Dual Player Sudoku for iPad. It’s a $3.99, dual player Sudoku game. Players may collaborate or compete. A single player mode is also available.

EA Mobile has announced five titles available for the iPad. They are SCRABBLE, Tetris, Need for Speed SHIFT, Mirror’s Edge, and Command & Conquer Red Alert.

Activision Publishing has launched Geometry Wars: Touch and Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies apps. The company says the launch of the iPad allows Geometry Wars: Touch for iPad and Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies for iPad to utilize higher graphics and faster processing to enhance the game experience and immerse players deeper into non-stop shooter pandemonium.

2K Games says Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution App for iPad ($12.99) is now available on the Apple App Store. Exclusive to the app is the World/Scenario Creator, an entirely new feature that allows players to customize the world and game parameters to create hundreds of different scenarios and game types.

Electronic Arts has released The Sims 3 World Adventures on the iPhone and iPod touch. This $6.99 app from The Sims 3 franchise allows players to travel with their Sims to three real-world inspired destinations in Egypt, France, and China.

Citrix Online, a division of Citrix Systems, has announced its GoToMeeting App for iPad. The free app enables anyone to attend an online meeting from anywhere.

I-play has released Warships — Sea on Fire for the iPad. It’s a $2.99 variation of the pen and paper battleships strategy games.

Mariner Software has released Mariner Calc for the iPad. The $5.99 app offers a level of mobile productivity to the small business, enterprise or home user who needs access to Excel files.

Also, Citrix Systems has released two, free iPad apps: Citrix Receiver and Citrix GoToMeeting. The former allows “iPad owners to take a virtual office with them anywhere they go by providing secure access to all of their corporate applications and documents.” The latter “brings the same level of simplicity to the world of business meetings, making it easy for iPad owners to collaborate from anywhere via online meetings.”

SugarSync — makers of the SugarSync file sync, backup and file sharing service — say their native iPad application has been approved by Apple, and will be included in the new iPad App Store tomorrow for launch day. It will be free and enable instant remote access to all of a user’s data.

MeLLmo will release the Roambi App for the iPad on Saturday, April 3 from the App Store. The free app enables companies of all sizes to transform business reports and data into interactive mobile dashboards.

Quickdecay is offering DJDeckX 1.0, an all-in-one DJ application designed specifically for the iPad. The $9.99 app supports most common audio formats, like unprotected AAC, unprotected MP3, WAV, AIFF and Ogg.

Steve Glinberg has released 123 Color HD Talking Coloring Book for iPad. It’s a $0.99 coloring book that teaches numbers, upper and lower case letters, shapes and colors in multiple languages as kids play.

eBay, a global leader in m-commerce, has released eBay for iPad. The free app “delivers a dramatically different, visually compelling shopping experience to browse the vast selection of products available on eBay.”

AccuWeather.com is offering AccuWeather.com Cirrus App. The $0.99 app offers weather info from AccuWeather and makes use of iPad’s accelerometer to facilitate a landscape view. Users can access all major features with the “scrubber” scrolling bar at the bottom of the screen.

Smule has released Magic Piano for the iPad. The $2.99 app lets you play pieces on spiral and circular keyboards — or follow beams of light. You can play alone or travel through a “warp hole” and duet with other Magical Pianists across the world.

SoundHound has unveiled SoundHound for iPad. It’s a $4.99 music recognition and voice-directed search app.

FlipSide5 has announced multi-player apps, Touch Hockey Extreme ($2.99) and Touch Tanks Online (free), for the iPad. The former features head-to-head play over WiFi. The latter allows online game play for four and six player games over 3G and WiFi. As players gain skill through combat and experience credits are earned that can be spent to upgrade weapons and armor.

Telltale Games has announced The Penal Zone App for iPad. The $9.99 is the first game in a new Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse series and has been specifically developed for the iPad.

Auman Software has announces handPaint 1.0 for the iPad Tablet, iPhone and iPod touch. The free, kid-friendly hand painting app offers a digital canvas where budding artists create colorful artwork using a wide variety of colorful subjects and artisans’ tools.

Point Inside has released its self-titled app for the iPad. It’s a free interactive indoor map application that includes maps of over 500 shopping centers, and directory listings for over 100,000 stores, kiosks, restrooms, elevators, ATMs, parking, play areas, lost & found, and other guest services for malls in the U.S. and Canada.

Hello-Hello, a language learning company, has launched a self-titled, $4.99 iPad app. It features Hello-Hello’s complete Spanish course developed in collaboration with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). The Hello-Hello Spanish language course app is available immediately for the iPad’s release and apps for other languages will be launched in the coming weeks.

Truphone, the global mobile operator, has announced the availability of its free app that offers iPad users the ability to make voice calls. It turns the tablet-sized device into a mobile phone that offers free or low-cost international calls, as well as advanced Instant Messaging features that integrate a user’s contacts from across multiple IM networks.

Shazam, a mobile discovery provider, has released a Shazam App for iPad. Free, it’s a specially designed version of the music discovery app that lets users identify new music.

Gilt Groupe, a flash-sale retailer, has announced its Gilt App for iPad. The free app offers a looks at the retailer’s wares.

Line Rider Racing is a $6.99 iPad app that “combines the creative drawing and fun physics of Line Rider with the multiplayer competitiveness of racing.”

Agile Partners has announced a new version of TabToolkit designed specifically for iPad. The $9.99 app dynamically renders music notation in different sizes and formats (i.e., standard and/or tablature notation), enables multi-track audio playback with tempo control and effects (e.g., guitar bends and slides), and more.

PlayFirst is offering Diner Dash: Grilling Green for the iPad. In the $4.99 game, players tcook and serve simultaneously by utilizing the game’s “Touch Cooker 3000,” a gesture-based cooktop that enables players to chop, stir, pinch and flip menu orders.

Nico Becherer has released Face Melter XXL for iPad, the latest installment of the Face Melter series. The $1.99 app lets users mess around with pictures in high resolution and with up to three fingers multi-touch gestures. One just pinches, pulls and rotates to see faces melt away. Face Melter XXL also features a complete keyframe animation system for movie animations that can be played back at various speeds.

Glu Mobile has announced the availability of Glyder 2 for iPad ($4.99). Taking full advantage of the larger screen, players use their device to navigate Eryn on her biggest adventure yet.

ShotZoom Software is unveiling what it says the first instructional baseball app on the Apple App Store soon with major league star Jason Giambi. Baseball Gameplan, available today on the iPhone and iPod touch for US$0.99, and April 3 on the new iPad, will provide 15-30 second tips and 30-60 second drills for baseball players on high-definition, multi-angle videos.

PGA Tour professional Paul Azinger is partnering with the maker of Golfshot: Golf GPS, to create the first universal instructional golf application based on actual golfers’ stats. It’s available for for the iPhone and iPod touch for $0.99 and will be available for the iPad on April 3.

Makeshift Games says Depict HD ($1.99) will be available with the launch of the iPad on April 3. Depict is a Pictionary-like drawing game that lets players compete with friends and strangers around the world.

WeatherBug, a provider of consumer and professional weather services and operator of the largest weather observing network, says its WeatherBug Elite App for iPad is available for free for a limited time.

Electric Pocket Limited has brought BugMe!, the “sticky note” note-taker, to the iPad. The $0.99 iPad version of BugMe! builds on the success of the recently released iPhone version, and lets users take advantage of the iPad’s large screen to jot and organize handwritten sticky-style notes and memory joggers.

Dobsoft Studios has released Bull Stampede 1.0, their first title for iPhone and iPod touch devices. The $0.99 app offers gamers a fun new take on the endurance gameplay genre. It features a scaling difficulty level that increases as the user plays, while the “Macho Meter” mechanic gives the player a chance to slow the action down again. While dodging the oncoming bulls the player will also encounter damsels in distress and have the opportunity to rescue them.

Zen Frogs has announced MicroKart Evolved 1.0, a free game for iPhone and iPod touch users. The game allows the players to experience life on the fast lane as they race down the pavement in the city going across bridges and tunnels.

MotionPortrait has released ZombieBooth 1.0 ($0.99) for iPhone and iPod touch devices. With “gruesome graphics and stomach-churning sound effects, ZombieBooth uses MotionPortrait’s cutting-edge avatar-builder technology to bring a whole new dawn of the dead experience to your iPhone.”

EuroSmartz has announced PrintCentral 1.01, an update of its $0.99 printing application for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. It enables customers to print email, attachments, web pages, photos, contacts and copied content from other apps.

Mekentosj BV has released Papers 1.5 for the iPad. The $14.99 app allows you to read your personal library of science wherever you go. It’s a universal app that works across the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

Hunter Research and Technology have unveiled Cover Match 1.1, including a new universal version with custom features for the iPad. It’s a $1.99 match game that uses album art from a user’s music library.

MotionObj has announced SimplyTweet 3.0, a new version of their $4.99 Twitter application for iPhone and iPod touch. This new version has a new architecture designed to bring more recent Twitter functionality to users. It supports advanced functionality such as mentions and direct messages push notifications, themes, photo search, photo and video posting, geotagging and more.

EuroSmartz has announced PrintCentral 1.01, its latest printing application for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. It’s a $9.99 printing app that enables users to print email, attachments, web pages, photos, contacts and copied content from other apps.

MMISoftware has released bodyCal2 1.0, a health and fitness calculator and tracker for the iPad. The $2.99 app takes advantage of the large touch sensitive screen of the iPad to provide a body mass index and basal metabolic rate calculator, plus data summary, and data tracking. With bodyCal2 you can track your BMI and BMR over time.

Grembe has unveiled Communicate 1.2.1 for the iPad. The $4.99 app allows the user to create customized storyboards and visual schedules. An in-app purchase will allow you to record audio in any language.

AssistiveWare has announced Proloquo2Go 1.3 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Version 1.3 is a major update to the $189.99 augmentative and alternative communication solution for people who can’t speak. Proloquo2Go App has been optimized for iPad and will be a free update for current users.

Newtoy has released Words With Friends HD 3.10, an iPad version of their $4.99 crossword game. It features turn-based gaming where friends engage in “crossword combat” and play at their own pace. In addition to a new high-resolution game board, all the action now takes place on one screen for a streamlined experience.
