iPhone/iPod/iPad apps for March 16

Here are the latest iPhone/iPod touch/iPod/iPad apps announced. You can find 'em at the Apple App Store (http://www.itunes.com/appstore/).

The Dove Foundation (http://www.dove.org) has announced a free mobile app for iPhone and iPod touch. The Dove Foundation publishes reviews from a family-friendly perspective of the latest movies and DVDs, and the app offers access to Dove's reviews.

UK-based online news service TheBusinessDesk is offering a free iPhone app that allows users to access its three business news sites while on the move. The app will complement the online news service's web sites in Yorkshire, the North West and the West Midlands. Registered users of the website will have full access to every story published on the site's three regional home pages and more.

ScavoMed has released Pocket Therapy 1.0 for the iPhone and iPod touch users. The US$3.99 gives specific therapeutic routines for the 15 most common injuries. The Pocket Therapy offers injury specific information, advice and exercises, complete with photo and video demonstrations.

PayPal has unveiled a new, free Send Money app for the iPhone. Version 2.0 of the PayPal Send Money app gives PayPal and iPhone customers around the world secure mobile access to their money and such features as Bump money transfers, Split Check and Collect Money.

apfelbaumGROUP UG has released TIOnixie for iPhone and iPod touch users. This $1.99, three-in-one application has added even more functions to its retro Nixie tube timekeeping program. Now, in addition to the alarm, stop watch and timer, developers have included a flashlight, icon dimming and connection to a user's iPod library. The clock can show the time in a 12 or 24 hour format with both modes displaying the hour, minute and seconds.

24x7digital has shippedSmiley Sight Words 1.0, an educational flash-card app for the iPhone and iPod touch. The $0.99 learning tool contains over 1,500 high-frequency sight words, compiled from many sources including Dolch, Fry, and UK word lists. Students may tap the sight word to hear professionally recorded American-English pronunciations, swipe flash-cards to navigate the stack of words, and shake their iPhone to shuffle the flash-cards.

Konami Digital Entertainment has announced that Frogger Inferno for the iPhone and iPod touch is now available on the Apple App Store for $0.99 cents. It brings the classic arcade game with an all-new twist to the iPhone and iPod touch.

WonderWarp has released Etude for the iPhone and iPod touch. The $2.99 app combines traditional sheet music with an on-screen keyboard whose keys light up to reveal the position
of notes. The app also uses its own synthesizer to simultaneously play the piece aloud. It ships with access to an in-app music store from which users can download new songs.

Navigon has unveiled Navigon MyRegion for the iPhone and iPod touch. It's a customizable version of Navigon's MobileNavigator app, with regional map access for the East, Central or Western U.S. Users can upgrade to additional regions within the app and on the go, providing cross country navigation at choice. The total U.S. map is downloaded upon purchase of the first “MyRegion." Access to the first region is available an introductory price of $24.99 (normally $29.99) until April 12. Each regional map can be accessed as an In App Purchase for an introductory $12.99 (normally $14.99) MobileNavigator with map access for all of North America (including Eastern, Central and Western U.S. as well as Canada) is available for $79.99.

Yipe! Software has introduced a free, "lite" version of the retro-style RPG called "Yipe! 5 -- Attack of Idle Hands" for the iPhone and iPod touch. It features classic gameplay set in an fantasy world.

Spurrier Group has announced eyeBuy Visual Search 1.5 for iPhone and iPod touch users looking for price deals. The $1.99 app offers local shopping search engine results, which can be obtained with barcode scans, photos or used manually to find the best online deals for specific products.

PhatWare Corp. has unveiled an updated PhatNotes 1.3 for iPhone and iPod touch devices. The $9.99 app allows users to create notes and organize them by category, color, subject, priority, creation, authorization, and modification dates. Version 1.3 features improved handwriting recognition engine and spell checker and more.
