iPhone/iPod/iPad apps for March 23

Here are the latest iPhone/iPod touch/iPod/iPad apps announced. You can find 'em at the Apple App Store (http://www.itunes.com/appstore/).

AmeriSmart is offering eMail Mania, a new app that allows iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS users to email any combination of movies, photos, recordings and text simultaneously. Two versions of eMail Mania are available.

The free “lite” version allows users to send emails with embedded pictures and text, best suited for the iPhone 3G. For US$1.99, users can purchase the full version, allowing any combination of video, audio, pictures, text descriptions and colorful stationery templates, best suited for iPhone 3GS. Neither version requires a user to have a private email account, although the full version works with Gmail.

RadVision -- a provider of video network infrastructure and developer tools for unified visual communications over IP, 3G, and emerging next-generation IMS networks -- has announced SCOPIA Mobile, extending the SCOPIA conferencing solution to the latest generation of mobile devices. SCOPIA Mobile is a free application providing control and management of video conferences hosted on the SCOPIA Elite MCU with the iPhone, iPod touch and Blackberry devices.

Tapity has released Grades 1.0, an $0.99 grade management application for iPhone and iPod touch users. Grades shows students what they need to score on their upcoming assignments, tests, and finals, in order to get the grades they want. Students plug in the items and weights from their syllabus and then plug in the grades they have already received.

Excelltech Mobile has launched Wake Up Now? Alarm Clock 1.0 for iPhone and iPod touch devices. The $0.99 app allows a user to set how loud of a sound sets off the time announcement, choose an alarm from their music library or provided classic alarm noises, and navigate through the settings.

Mobilecause, a web services software company for mobile fundraising, has rolled out a free iPhone app called uGive that allows participating charities another platform to get the word out and solicit support -- both financial and through increased social media exposure. Using their web console, participating charities can instantly add themselves to the ever-updating database of organizations offered on the app.

Freeverse's Flick Bowling 2, a sequel toFlick Bowling and the newest Flick Sports series, is now available for the iPhone and iPod touch. With the $2.99 app, story mode takes Players on a journey through time and space to defeat Baron Von Schtopwatch and his generally evil plan. Free play allows users to play as one of six historical figures from Napoleon to Cleopatra on five amazing historical (but not historically accurate) bowling alleys.

Houdah Software has released ACTRocket 1.3 for the iPhone and iPod touch. It's $0.99 web search accelerator that allows searching of the web as well as individual web sites. Version 1.3 improves startup time and adds six more web sites to search.

CampusBooks.com and Vision Smarts are collaborating on the iBookStore 2.0 iPhone app (not to be confused with the iBookStore app coming with the iPad). The free iPhone apps iBookStore and pic2shop, both feature a barcode scanner developed by Vision Smarts. Using the iPhone's built-in camera, shoppers can y scan the barcodes of books and other items to look up prices, access reviews, and compare deals. iBookStore delivers real-time price comparisons for users looking to buy and sell books.

Grembe has developed iCommunicate, a $4.99 iPhone app that allows the user to create customized storyboards and visual schedules. In response to feedback from customers, a new version now offers created custom audio, which is now available as an iTunes in-app purchase.

MeanFreePath is offering version 1.3 of its free, geo-based iPhone and iPod touch app, Turf Wars. Version 1.3 adds an optional landscape mode, and Facebook Connect, which allows you to show off your turf and capo titles to all your Facebook friends.

FutureTap has unveiled version 2.6 of its $2.99 points of interest finder: Where To? for iPhone. The new version supports TomTom’s “Add to My TomTom” feature, which allows users to save locations from other iPhone apps and Web browsers to the TomTom app for more intuitive navigation to a wide range of points of interest. The feature requires the TomTom app Version 1.3 update, which is also available on the Apple App Store.

Today Readdle has released Scanner Pro 2.0, the latest version of their $6.99 iPhone application that transforms the device into portable scanner. Scanner Pro 2.0 adds GoogleDocs integration, camera stabilization, automatic edge detection and passcode protection for the entire application.
