Nickelodeon announced the launch of several new apps for the iPhone and iPod touch based on its most popular television properties and leading online games; Nick Kids’ Choice Awards (free), A to Z With Moose and Zee (US$1.99), Diego Snowboard Rescue ($1.99), Sky Storm ($0.99), High School Cheerleader ($1.99), Dora Saves Crystal Kingdom-Rainbow Ride Lite (free), and Go, Diego, Go: Musical Missions Lite (free).

Cloud-based backup/sync service SpiderOak has announced its first mobile application for the iPhone. The program allows users to access any of the files uploaded to SpiderOak across any device, open personal and guest ShareRooms, and email any individual file (via link) using the iPhone mail client. The free application was designed to work in conjunction with the current SpiderOak service.

Taltopia, an artistic social networking community, has unveiled its mobile casting application for the iPhone and Google Android platforms. The free app provides a way to apply to casting calls on the go.

UDR, a multifamily real estate investment trust (REIT), has launched new apartment search apps for iPhone BlackBerry, Palm Pre, and Android platforms. In addition, UDR also released an industry-first custom designed augmented social reality apartment search app that integrates the social aspect of content sharing and apartment search.

Titan Publishing’s WWE Heroes comic series hits newsstands this week, with an exclusive free prequel story launching on the iPhone. The comic book series takes the biggest WWE Superstars and Divas into a brand new fictional universe. The first issue of flagship title WWE Heroes, which reveals an eternal rivalry set against the backdrop of the history of WWE hits newsstands and comic book stores from March 23.

Beauty.com, a wholly-owned subsidiary of drugstore.com, now offers a fully transactional, free iPhone app for the growing number of mobile commerce customers. The new app is an expansion of the mobile channel for the drugstore.com portfolio of brands.

Avallon Alliance and OZ SmartGames Solutions are collaborating to provide games on iPhone and iPod touch. Their first is Twistrix 3D, a $0.99 classic style puzzle in which players pit their intellect against plenty of original combinations of balls.
