TuneView is an US$179 remote control with color LCD screen and two-way RF connectivity that allows you to browse and manage an iPod throughout your house or office. It can be updated by connecting it to the USB port on a Mac or PC and loading new firmware onto the remote.
When Apple released its current generation of iPods -- including the new iPod nano, iPod classic, and iPod touch -- only docks and peripherals with an Apple authentication coprocessor were able to support video out functions in these new iPods. Keyspan's TuneView dock is one of the few "Made for iPod" licensed docks that contains the necessary authentication coprocessor, says Keyspan President Mike Ridenhour.
When used in conjunction with recently released firmware updates from Apple, the new firmware update from Keyspan enables full use of the video out functionality. The firmware is available for free download.
