MacOSG: How to distinguish between MacBook Air models


Visual Difference

The key visual difference between the MacBook Air (Original) and the MacBook Air (Late 2008) and later is the video out port in the I/O hatch.

The original MacBook Air included a Micro-DVI connector. It has a narrow rectangular shape, as below.











The MacBook Air (Late 2008) and later includes a Mini DisplayPort. This connector is narrower than the Micro-DVI connector.
