



Here is a way to get the four finger swipe function working again if yours is missing.
1. Create a folder on your Desktop and call it Backup. Then navigate to your System/Library/Extensions folder and drag the AppleUSBMultitouch.kext extension file to the Backup folder to back it up. (It will copy the file to the folder.)
2. Download (Control-click save as) this modified AppleUSBMultitouch.kext file, unzip it and put it on your Desktop.
3. Delete the AppleUSBMultitouch.kext file in System/Library/Extensions folder (this should require the administrators password).
4. Put the modified kext file you downloaded at Step 2 in System/Library/Extensions folder (this should also require the administrators password)
5. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder and Repair Disk Permissions of your startup disk. (This may take a few minutes.)
6. When permissions are repaired, restart your MacBook Air. You should see the four finger function listed as in the photo below.
