Kerio WinRoute Firewall, an Internet gateway security and management solution, includes a SSL-based Virtual Private Network (VPN) Server for allowing secure, fast, remote access to the corporate network. Kerio’s new VPN Client will now allow Mac users the same access to protected files and servers as PC users.
Now mobile business users on Intel-based Macbooks will have immediate access to all resources, whether Intranet web pages, document files, email, or database, says Jan Jezek, product development manager for Kerio.
Kerio WinRoute Firewall (KWF) provides anti-virus scanning and web content filtering of all VPN traffic to ensure the secure link does not expose the network to threats. The product offers link load balancing, access policy management as well as analysis and reporting. The VPN server in KWF, uses UDP (User Datagram Protocol) for fast data transmission and NAT compatibility.
The tunnel is secured using standard SSL encryption for easy configuration on the client and server. Kerio’s built in VPN server also provides site-to-site connectivity for connecting remote offices through a secure tunnel. Kerio VPN Client for Mac supports all Intel-based Macs running Mac OS X 10.4 and above. Kerio WinRoute Firewall and Kerio VPN Client are available for 32 or 64 bit processors. The integrated Kerio Clientless VPN supports all versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari.
