MWSF: MCopy lets you manage digital files without a computer

"MCopy is a compact, good looking and user-friendly device that can become your multimedia swiss army knife," Elena Petrova of Unicon told Macsimum News. "With MCopy you no longer need to run to the computer when you want to share or back up your media files. Imagine copying and managing photos from your camera, and sharing playlists and videos from your iPod without the hassle of stopping by the old PC."

MCopy has two 2.0 USB ports where you plug in whatever you want: MP3 players, digital cameras and even those portable storage devices on your keychain. MCopy immediately recognizes what it’s dealing with, and displays your content on a 3.5-inch touch-screen. All you need to do now is tell MCopy what to do with your stuff, Petrova says.

"You can back it all up, delete it (to free up space) with just one click, or browse through your files, pictures or music library and do selective copying," she adds. "You don’t need to know file names for pictures or what you called the MP3 that you’re trying to find: if you have your camera hooked up, the files show up as pictures on your screen; if it’s your iPod, then you get a list of songs. MCopy is the only handheld device on the market, that recognizes all existing digital devices because it’s running Linux."

"Macsimum News" is now offering the "Macsimum MWSF 2007 Coupon Book." It's a PDF, downloadable coupon book with discounts, special offers and promotions in conjunction with January's Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco. You can download it here.
